  • "My name means " of shining fame" I was named after the bird in Mary Poppins film. I was teased and tried to change my name. Robin Hood Batman and Robin but I love my name now. I'm a famous pop singer named Robin and my last name is also an animal. When I was on the radio station I had the most unusual name. And even now there are at least 5 celebrities with my name, including Rhyanna who had to change her name so that our songs didn't get mixed up! ( Real name is Robin). When Robin Williams died I got a lot of requests to my website. And Robin Thicke people would request his songs I said no I'm the girl! They said Miley Cyrus? Well I think Robin is an original name. But I have tons of Robins for a convention or something, 1964 and 200, 000 Robins now in the US Census this year alone." Jun. 14, 2022: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Robin. I?ve always liked my name because I hardly ever met anyone else with it. About a year after I was born, my mother?s sister asked if she could name her daughter Robin. My mother said yes, but that I would need to be Robin #1 LOL!! I would always hear, hey Robin, where?s Batman or hey Rockin Robin, when the Red, Red Robin Comes Bobbin along. When I was little my uncle would ask me if I caught any worms that morning. LOL! I enjoy it and am glad to be called Robin." May. 28, 2021: Report as inappropriate

  • "I work in a technical field and so give a few people a surprise when they meet me and they are expecting a man. It's good to toss their preconceptions up in the air. I like it!" Aug. 23, 2018: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is also Robin. I am 14 at the moment and the only people that I know of irl are my aunt and my grandmother who I was named after. I like how unique it is to be the only person my age that I know named Robin, but as I was bullied, people would say,"Where's Batman?" And other stuff that didn't relate to my name. I got used to it but I still love my name <3" Aug. 1, 2015: Report as inappropriate

  • "I am a 'robin' too! but my name is spelt with a 'yn' so Robyn:) I've met about 2 Robyn's in my life the names not that commen where I live. I love meeting people with the same name as me it's so cool haha. I love my name so much know I've grew into it, I love it!" Sep. 19, 2014: Report as inappropriate

  • "I've only met a few other girl Robin's in my life, and only a couple spelled it with "i-n". I used to want a name that had more of a ring to it or sounded more feminine. But now i have grown into my name and feel that it fits me very well. It's simple and classic. All Robin's I've met seem to be very down to earth, genuine and fun-loving. I'd like to think the same of myself ;)" Apr. 18, 2012: Report as inappropriate

  • "I'm a Robin too and like many of you, have been teased to death as a child. When that song "Fly Robin Fly" came out in the 70's, I really got nailed. Others being, "Hey Robin, where's Batman?", Rockin Robin and of course Robin Redbreast would just embarass me to death. Now, I love my name and am glad hardly anybody else has it. I've only known two other Robin's in my whole life and I"m 42. I think my middle name Lyn gives me more grief now because people think I left the other "N" off. If I had a daughter I think I'd give her my name too, that's how much I love it." Jun. 16, 2010: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is also Robin and it is always fun to meet another Robin, to bad I haven't meet one yet!Well I love my name. On occasion I get called Rockin Robin or they sing the song to me, but I would never ever change my name." Feb. 12, 2009: Report as inappropriate

  • "I love that my name is simple and straight forward, but a bit unique at the same time. My fiance's name is Chris so I'm getting used to the Christopher Robin jokes now, but think that's just a funny coincidence." Jun. 30, 2008: Report as inappropriate

  • "I hated it as a child and desperately wanted to change it to a definitively girl's name such as Jane or Judy. My mother finally capitulated when I was about 14 saying, "go ahead and change it but I always thought I named you right because you've always been as free as a bird." That was just the thing I needed to hear. I have loved the name ever since, and I am now 51." Jun. 8, 2007: Report as inappropriate

  • "I really love my name now. As a young child there was a little teasing but it wasn't too awful. Mostly it was Batman and Robin but that was in the 1960s when the TV show was at the height of its popularity. The name Robin is strong, feminine and unique but not difficult to spell or pronounce." May. 25, 2007: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Robin and I hated it as a child...robin redbreast...batman and robin...but now as an adult, I really like it. It's not super common and I think it's a pretty name." Apr. 14, 2007: Report as inappropriate

  • "I find people in the US can not spell it right. They really want there to be two 'b's or a 'y'." Jun. 9, 2006: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Robin. Sometimes people address things to Mr. Robin.... even though I'm female. It's very unique these days, I am always the only "Robin" at work, amongst friends, etc. I like that it's from nature (bird), traditional, and classic. I could do without the Batman and Robin and Robin Hood jokes, but other than that, It's a great name" Jul. 6, 2005: Report as inappropriate

  • "I was named Robin by my dad in March, 1958, when while he was taking my mom to the hospital for my delivery, he saw his first Robin of the spring in Iowa. I'm 64 now so I'm probably one of the oldest Robins on this website--haha." Jun. 20, 2022: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Robin and, I too, love my name - Now! When I was younger, I went through a phase when I was younger, when I wanted to tell anyone new that I met that my name was Colleen, which is my middle name. It didn't take long for me to realize that I couldn't actually do that, because I'd be lying, and everyone would know it, because not only am I a terrible liar, but I also have brothers and sisters that would tell people that that is not my real name, and everyone would know that I lied! So I was stuck! Now I like my name because it fits my personality, which may be a little rough and tumble at times, even in a dress! I was never teased much about my name, but I have gotten the occasional Robin Red Breast (dumb) joke, and always thought it was rude, even perverted depending on who said it. Definitely like my androgynous name now, and glad I never told that lie as a child!" Dec. 8, 2018: Report as inappropriate

  • "Do your daughter a favor and spell it Robyn. I'm a female born in 1956 and I've always hated having a sexually ambiguous name. I wish I changed it years ago." Dec. 16, 2017: Report as inappropriate

  • "I was teased as a child too, like everyone else with that name, and as a result, to this day I do not even pretend to be polite or amused when people say idiotic things or jokes thinking they are funny. I just sort of deadpan and say "ho ho ho" very dryly. hah. I am 52 - the age that most Robins are. Now I do kind of like my name, I think if I were not named Robin and I met someone else who was, I would think it was a neat name." Jan. 22, 2014: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is also Robin. I'm 15 years old and I can tell you that it is not a common name. The name is unique, just like I am. I have never been teased, but I have a good sense of humor and have found many fun and creative things to do with my name. For instance, when I ran for student body Vice President, I used the slogan "robinyourvotes". Many people thought it was funny. The name has never done me wrong. I love my name and would never dare to change it." Jun. 15, 2013: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Robin and my godmother gave me the name. I love my name and would ne ver change it. Born in 1961" Nov. 19, 2012: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name's Robin, after the bird. I have never been teased but some people expect me to be a boy when they hear the name. I don't really like the name as it's not feminine enough, i might make it my middle name instead when i'm 18." Aug. 27, 2012: Report as inappropriate

  • "Robin is the best name in the whole world!! How many of them do you know? well i know a few actually but like everyone else says its pretty basic but not too common. Its not a brittany or jessica or heather its ROBIN!!and I love it ♥" Jun. 12, 2010: Report as inappropriate

  • "I was teased a lot as a child also. Batman and Robin, Robin Red Breast, Robin Hood. But as an adult of course all that is over. I do like that it is a fairly uncommon name, but wish my parents had spelled it with a y. It would have made it more obvious I was a girl I think. Robin is often mistaken for a male name." Aug. 5, 2009: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Robin and I was teased very much as a child, it was pretty awful. Even teachers used to make fun of my name. Now its ok, it doesn't bother me as much. I much prefer my middle name, but Im not laying that out on a public website. :)" Mar. 25, 2009: Report as inappropriate

  • "I love my name Robin Renee, but even though the name was poplular in the early 60's when I was born I never had another Robin in my class or in my schools. Now my grand daughter is named Robin:)" Mar. 12, 2009: Report as inappropriate

  • "My middle name is Robin, this i becouse the day after i was borne there were iver a houndred robin on my front deck." Mar. 11, 2009: Report as inappropriate

  • "yep...I have been called everything from Rocket Robinhood, to Chistopher Robin..and the song "Jingle bells, batman smells, ROBIN laid an egg.." is always sung to me. I didn't like my name either..haha...funny how we all hated the name in the beginning. But over the years I have come to realize that it's not a very popular name, and I like being different. I hardly know any Robin's, and none live around here. I like it because it's failry short, and I think it has some sort of powerfulness to it, but I can't explain. I've finally decided it's such a pretty name, and I am so glad it's mine :) haha." Oct. 3, 2007: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Robin. I do not often meet others with the name Robin. I have been asked to see my feathers once or twice. It is usually not mispronounced. Often it is mispelled with "Robyn"." Oct. 18, 2006: Report as inappropriate

  • "i have only met 2 other girls named robin in my life. I like my name, no weird nick names, no confusion. it's better than being a common name like my sis emily. P.S. I never get any batman jokes!" Nov. 26, 2005: Report as inappropriate

  • "i never met a girl with that name and im from holland, i agree with the stupid batman jokes hahaa, but i like my name, my second name is mercedes so im used to people making funny faces when they hear my names:P" Jul. 25, 2005: Report as inappropriate
