"I have gotten a lot of odd questions in my life(ex. "you're such a pretty girl; are you and your twin brother identical?" "Did your parents really adopt NINE children?" [No, we just broke into their house and they decided to keep us. Obviously.], etc) but asking where my name came from is by far the most uncomfortable because I have to respond with "My mom thought the name was pretty," which is boring as heck as far as origin stories go. People always misspell my name and mispronounce it. "Is there a Julie-Anne-A?" And the misspellings have just gotten more ridiculous over the years; Julianna, Julieanna, JuhliaAhnna, JolliAhna, etc. My grandma sewed my name into a pillow/quilt and spelled my name, Julianna. (To be fair, she had to make pillow/quilts for 46 people so...) I haven't MET anyone with the same name, per se, but I flipped out when I was at a zoo and I heard a woman call her six-seven-year-old daughter Juliana, I got this really dopey grin on my face for the rest of the day and weirded out my cousin because I was so happy about it. And my name is pronounced "Juhl-ee-on-uh," not "Juhl-ee-Anne-uh." I have received a permanent nickname for this one, Juju, and, from my mother, Jujubee. I have never been called Julie, Jewel, Juuls, Lee, Anna, Julia, or anything like it; it's always just been Juju, so much so that a lot of people introduce me as Juju even family and life-long friends. I usually have to volunteer my full name for people to know it. I actually went through a phase where I was so annoyed with people misspelling my name as Julianna that I wrote my name that way on every homework assignment out of sheer stubbornness. I'm 17, almost 18 and I have never met anyone with even a similar name." Jan. 26, 2020:
"Meu nome ? Juliana sou brasileira e aqui esse nome ? muito comum" Oct. 21, 2018:
"My name is Juliana and I think that it's really cool because 1. You are probably the only one that has that name at your work/school 2. There is probably 3 people that have the same first / last name as you in the world! (OUT OF 7 BILLION PEOPLE!) 3. It's a cool name" Sep. 17, 2016:
"My name is Juliana and I love it! People sometimes tell me I have a really pretty name when they hear it. I think it's the perfect balance of feminine and strong. My nicknames are nana (family) jewel Julio but mostly Jules. Sometimes the whole 'one n' thing can get annoying but it's totally worth it" Mar. 29, 2015:
"My name is Julianna. I love it because not a lot of other people have the name. I love uncommon names and will one day name my little girl an uncommon name. My mom and her friends call me Jules. I think it is a very pretty name." Sep. 28, 2014:

"Hi I'm Juliana. I love my name! It is a gorgeous and exotic latin name. Although it isn't common I have been hearing more people name their daughters Juliana. I am 32 so it was very rare when I was young. Never met another Juliana in my whole life. My nick names are, Jules, J, Julie (what I go by) and JuJu." May. 11, 2009:

"This is my name too!! I love it! So few people have it in England, it's nice to be different. It has 4 syllables, so people do try and shorten it to; Juls or Ju, but most people say as I like; "Jew-lee-r-na"" Oct. 15, 2008:
"I am planning to name my baby girl Juliana when she arrives in February." Sep. 17, 2008:
"I love my name and I was named after my great grand-mother who had exactly the same name. Yes, friends and acquaintances end up with different versions of pronounciations, but I do not mind as long as they spell it correctly. When I was younger, some people would even ask me where in the world my name came from; but now, I just smile since I found out that within the last 10 years or so, quite a number of parents have chosen the name for their little girls." May. 9, 2008:
"I love my name and so does everyone else. I pronounce it "julie-anna" even though there is only one "n." LOTS of misspellings but I don't mind. At school the teachers used Juliana so all my classmates knew me by my real name. And outside of school, everyone knew me as Juli. There have been a few instances where people thought Juliana and Juli were 2 different people! =)" Apr. 1, 2008:
"This is my second daughter's name. We had a difficult time coming to a consensus, but 2 years later, I am so pleased we agreed on Juliana. It is feminine with out being too frilly. It is not overly common, but still a name that people recognize as a real name. Plus it has a beautiful ring to it, which sings with many last names." Jan. 23, 2008:
"people do spell and pronounce my name incorrectly.

"My name is Juliana, I've never thought much of it. People tell me they really love my name, but I don't like it, or the sound of it. I love the name Amalthea, though, or other names that people say are somewhat like mine but I think are not at all." Aug. 31, 2014:
"I have all boys and one little girl, who we named Juliana. I have loved that name as long as I can remember, and was so thrilled to be able to use it! We pronounce it "Julie-Anna" but many people say "Julie-Ahna" because they see one "n". Our daughter's nicknames are "Jules," "Juju," "Juj," and sometimes "Juli"... I try not to say "Juli" too much because I don't want it to stick as her official name. Juli is cute but Juliana is just a gorgeous name. I love it, and my daughter gets a ton of compliments! :)" Apr. 13, 2012:

"My names is Juliana and I was born in Brazil, where Juliana is a very commom name.I grew up with 4 Julianas in my class in elementary school so I wasn't crazy about the name, but since I've moved to the United States I really started to appreciate it more.I'm 32 years old and the only 2 Julianas I met here must be in their twenties now, and coincidentatly both of them had a brother with the same name as mine - Daniel - I guess we must come in pairs :D" Jul. 6, 2009:
"I'm planning on naming my baby girl Juliana! I love how unique it is. To me, it sounds like its full of joy! I hope its not mispronounced or mispelled though; I'm not a fan of Julie-anna. Also, my baby girl will be named after her two Grammas; my mother-in-law is an Anne, and my mother's middle name is Lee. Ana will be for Anne, and the the Li in there (though its not spelled the same) is for my mother! I love, love, love it! It's perfect." Jun. 14, 2009:

"This is my first name. My mother pronounced it as three syllables - jewl-yaw-na -but everyone else always pronounced it as four syllables - "Julie - Anna", which I did not like at all.
I don't think I've met anyone else with this name (not with this spelling, anyway)." May. 7, 2007:
