"LOVE MY NAME Jessie :D It is easy for others to remember, can still be shortened to Jess if you want a nickname, its unique, and I rarely run into the issue of being in a workplace or school where there is another female Jessie. I do have friends that named Jessica. It's an easy identifier for us to go by our own full names." May. 18, 2020:
"My name is Jessie!! I love it. Although a lot of people think it is Jessica that really grinds my gears. Or they will say it to be smart or if you are in an argument. I usually just don't reply back... which did get me in a lot of trouble at school. I love the name jessie. it is unique and kind of edgy. I feel that a lot of people now a days are leaning for more unisex names for their kids. Like James or Blake for girls or boys. Be proud to be a Jessie!!" Mar. 18, 2019:
"My daughter's name is Jessie. She was named after my late grandmother. I always loved the name. I'm sure she will get "is that short for Jessica" but I hope she grows to love her name." Nov. 17, 2012:
"My best friends name is jessie and my name is jessie too! I always thought that i was the only one... But i found out differently when i met her! We always have to correct our teachers and tell tham that our name is NOT JESSICA.... It gets so anoying because i ride a bus and my bus driver is always calling us jessica.. Shes an elderly woman and shes really sweet though!!! She tries not to call me jessica and she does a good job at it but sometimes she forget. But all in all , shes really nice and a good lady." Jun. 28, 2011:
"I am a Jessie(yayyyy)..and as looongg as I can remember I have people assume Jessica and I say "no, just Jessie" I feel I will be doing it forever....My mother said she named me Jessie because she knew I would be a beautiful, intelligent, successful woman and Jessica would not cut it! So I am Jessie. She said Jessica has too much "ick" in it..lol....And all the Jessica's I ever met are way too flighty and Jessie's are so much more intelligent and beautiful in my opinion.." Jan. 30, 2011:
"I always have to argue about my name and I get mixed up with guys. My first day of highschool, my science teacher calls us by mr or miss and our last name. I wanted to cry when he said mr before my last name!" Nov. 25, 2010:
"Well, I really like my name Jessie, but a lot of people mistaken it as Jessica or spelled it Jessy" Aug. 19, 2010:
"My daughter's name is Jessie. Not JESSICA. Her friends and teachers mistakenly call her Jessica. It drives us both nuts. Her name is Jessie Elaine. We love the name. It's unique but not off the wall like were trying too hard." May. 9, 2010:
"My name is Jessica my nickname has been Jessi since I was a baby.I spell it with an "I" not "IE" everyone says you spell I spell it wrong , but I'm pretty sure I know how to spell my name! I like Jessica as a name and I want people to use Jessi because the think it su" Apr. 7, 2010:
"Okk soo my name is Jessie not Jesse not Jessica. i hate when people call me jessica, im proud of my name. i love how its unique, im the only jessie in my school!!!" Jan. 16, 2010:
"my name is Jessie-May so i have never met people the same name, mainly i know jessica's i hate it when people say it wrong or spell it wrong" Jan. 15, 2010:
"I love my name too. I just wish people would stop thinking my name is Jessica!" Jan. 8, 2010:
"I love my name, I was named after my grandmother. And yes, I too have had to defend my name; it's not Jessica and it's not a boys name, lol.
When I was in the 4th grade, we had a substitute teacher, and when she called role she didn't call my name, but called out Jessica. I know she was calling me, but I didn't respond because she didn't say my name right. So long story short, I was sent to the principles office because of it, but I didn't get in trouble because I told the principle that the sub should learn how to read since it clearly said Jessie on the role!
But I love my name, I wouldn't change it for anything! It's not a "social nightmare" as one person stated on here, but rather a unique name to give a unique and beautiful child.
With a name like Jessie it's almost a guarantee that this person is not going to be a conformist!! We are nice, but when it comes to our names, we will stick up for ourselves, and politely inform anyone of mispellings." Aug. 28, 2009:
"I was named after my father's Nickname, but he spells it with the boys version. I used to REALLY HATE it growing up, especially when people would argue with me as to whether my name was Jessica or Jessie (seriously, You'd think I'd know my own name!). And people ALWAYS spell it wrong, either without the I or the ie and with a Y. Grr. But, as I've gotten older, I've really embraced it. I can't imagine being anything else, even though it strikes me as an odd name. It definitely builds character, we Jessie(s) have spunk. We're not usually girly-girls, but we can be when we want. We can be shy, or have attitude (especially when arguing about our name). Its a name that has to grow with you. I agree, not everyone can pull it off. I hate the name Jessica though." Jun. 17, 2009:
"My friends name is Jessie Ann and i really like her name i think its pretty!" Jan. 26, 2009:
Throughout the years i have had many think that my name was a shortened form of Jessica. I went through many periods in life that i didn't like it, and felt it wasn't 'girlie' or feminine. There was even another boy in my class (spelled differently) and man did i ever get teased!! Now at age 23, i really love it. Everything happens for a reason, i truly believe it. I've created the woman i am and wouldn't want any other name!!! =)

"Yeah, I know how that feels. Everyone keeps spelling my name wrong. Like jesse. And a lot of people think my name is jessica too. So its very annoying. But i love my name. *thought i wished i had a japanese name*" Sep. 16, 2007:
"I'm Jessica. I go by Jessie since like always. I get asked a lot if my name really is Jessie. Dunno, Jessie is super cute^^" Sep. 6, 2007:
"Yay other people with the same problem!!
Im 16 and named after my dads aunty.Actually never really thought of it but i do like my name, its simple but nice. Everyone always calls me "Jessica," even new teachers reading off the class list:( I get called jess a lot to but thats alrighty:)" May. 26, 2007:
"My name is Jessie, and people ALWAYS assume it's Jessica. I always correct them. As for going to court over a name, I would suggest some serious family counseling as to why a simple name caused so many problems. Hint: It's not the name itself." Apr. 6, 2007:
"I' m going to name my baby girl Jessie Jane. I am concern about the problems she might have with this name, but I can't find any other name that I like as much as this one. I considered the name Jessica, but I don't like that name because it reminds me of a cat eating carrots for some ODD reason. My name is Jennifer and I found it hard to live with a name this common.Jessie is a great name for any girl.My baby's nickname is going to be Jess-Jess(I already call her that)." Feb. 16, 2007:
"Yet, another Jessie with the same problem.I'm 13 and I ALWAYS get ask if my name is Jessica and some people just assume it is ,even tearchers call me Jessica. The name Jessie is a real social nightmare. I do get some Jesse's in my classes being a popular name for boys. People never spell it right and usually miss the 'i'. At least now I know that I'm not the only in the world with problems with this name.*I'm BEGGING my parents to change my name.*" Jan. 27, 2007:
"This use to be my name and I'm 13. My mother and father paid a lawyer and went to court to change my name. People ask me if my name is Jessica or they just assume it is.I have a Jesse in one of my class and it's really annoying(I'm sure he is annoyed too). It's a nice name, but from my experiences and peoples experiences with this name I wouldn't name your child this." Jan. 25, 2007:
"I'm a girl and my name is Jessie. I just recently changed my name to Jessica. I love this name, but people always write it wrong or think my name is Jessica. Once in a while I get a Jesse(boy) in my class and they always confuse us.I've always been nagging my mom about this and now she took action. My legal name now is Jessica." Dec. 31, 2006:
"My name's Jessica and I wish I was just Jessie. It is more fitting for someone who is not a girly-girl." Dec. 29, 2006:
""This is my name and in grade 2 I had like 4 people in my class with the name Jessica and when everyone was talking all I heard was the teacher saying Jess...... So I automatically thought she was talking to me".

"I have a very good friend whose name is Jessie, while mine is Jessica. We always have to mention that while yes, we go by the same name (Jessie), our names are NOT the same." Oct. 26, 2006:
"I love being called Jessie, but it really annoys me when people
1. Spell it "Jesse", because I'm not a boy
2.Assume it's short for "Jessica", because it is a valid name in itself." Aug. 8, 2006:
"This is my daughter's name too! I love it. I don't understand the spelling of Jessie with an "ie" for a boy - it's way too "girlie"." Feb. 7, 2006:
"I love my name and have NEVER met anyone else with it. I hate it when people call me Jessica because it isnt my name and its really ugly." Dec. 28, 2005:
"this is my name and i absolutely love it!! i've never met another girl with my name which i love. i've had boys with the same name as me in my classes but it's hard to get a boy jesse and a girl jessie confused. i HATE it when people call me jessica. i'm come to hate that name! people always ask me if my name is jessica or automatically assume that my legal name is jessica. it's become a pet peeve of mine! if you tell me your name is bill i don't start calling you william do i without asking you first do i?" Jul. 11, 2005:
"This is my daughter's name--and her grandmother's, her great-gma's, her gr-gr gma's, and her gr-gr-gr gma's! And it is NOT the diminutive form of the English name Jessica (or not primarily) and it is NOT Hebrew (it's the Scottish female derivation of the original male Hebrew name, Jesse), and it is NOT just a boy's name, and it is NOT spelled Jesse unless you are male, Hebrew, or Spanish! These are all huge pet peeves of mine." May. 31, 2005:

"I AM JESSIE ANN ...... I used to tell people my name was Jessica because I thought Jessie was a boys name. I am named after my grandmother Jessie Lee Braden. And now I prefer Jessie. It's powerful and beautiful at the same time." Jul. 3, 2019:
"My name is Jessica and my nickname is jessie and it has been from forever. I don't really get mad when people spell it wrong or anything, but I really love my name and wouldn't change it for anything. Anyway I feel like jessie has always suited me better then Jessica but whatever. Also there are some mean things on here about the name Jessica. Have a good day. :)" Feb. 17, 2014:
"Wow, Jenn. So brave of you to put this out there and also to address your flgniees in such a healthy way. Friendship breakups suck. Because at one time, these people CHOSE us to be their family, and then to have that support system crumble is soul-wrenching. I recently got back together with an old, dear friend on new terms. Never thought it would happen. And after years of not speaking, I had truly let all the pain and questions go. And that's when she showed up in my life again. Out of the blue. I think it was due to some behind-the-scenes plotting by mutual friends. And then, soon after, we were having lunch together. Just us. Crying. Saying sorry. Wondering why we did the things we did. Saying it will never be the same. We will likely never be best buds again. But that maybe we can be friends in a new way. Just tonight, we exchanged emails about getting together again. I am positive we were not meant to be friends these past 8 years. She would not have been healthy for me and vice versa. But we are different women now. And I think it's safe to say we are oddly, amazingly friends." Dec. 27, 2012:
"im pregnant with my first child & its a girl. had no idea finding a name would be so difficult. finally my husband & i both agreed on Jessie. its cute & easy to remember- i must admit at first i thought Jessie was a shortened form of Jessica but after reading everyones comments im so over that. thanks alot everyone- i cant wait for our Jessie to finally make her appearance." "my sisters name is jessie and we love eachother!
she likes it.she was named after jesse james although hers is spelt with an "I"." Sep. 4, 2010:
"I've only had a few problems with people concerning my name. Firstly, people would usually spell it incorrectly 'Jesse' or even 'Jessy' although it is spelled 'Jessie'. However, the most outrageous incident was when I received my grade 8 honours roll, and they put 'Jessica' on it! I was honestly upset, because my official name on my birth certificate clearly says it is JESSIE, not some other variation ,yet the office felt the need to make up some name to put on my honours roll? However, I am proud of my name, some people just need to stop trying to use some other variation of it." Sep. 8, 2009:
"I go by Jessie although my name is Jessica ,, I like Jessie a lot more. for one there are a lot less people named that (while there are still alot) anyway ive had people spell it the boys way so many times" Jan. 12, 2009:
"people always think my name is jessica,or they spell it jesse-the boy's way of spelling it.the only problem w/ it is that their are a lot of words that rhime w/ it!" Apr. 1, 2008:

"my best friend is called jessie and people always asume it's Jessica. she gets really annoyed coz itz not!! she getz called jess a lot too but shez alright with that." Jun. 7, 2007:
"There are only certain people that can pull this name off, and ones whom assume that youŭre a Jessica do not fully understand what it takes to be a Jessie. With a name like Jessie comes with having to encounter many different experiencesŭ.being called ŭJessicaŭ or assuming that youŭre a JESSEŭ.it takes a real gal to pull off a name like Jessieŭ..believe me I knowŭ..itŭs been a fun ride and wouldnŭt change it for the world :)" May. 18, 2007:
"I'm fifteen right now, and my sister named me Jessie when I was born. She was six, so I was naturally named after Uncle Jesse from Full House. It's a fun fact to tell, I guess. I never really liked my name, it just gives me a strange feeling or vibe. Maybe it's just because it's my own name. But like everyone else, I can't stand people assuming that I'm a Jessica, or a Jesse. But now that someone else said it, I prefer it over Jessica. I don't know, I think it's alright. But I wouldn't have given this name to me. It's one of the ones that you can't mold to fit you. You have to either mold to fit it, or just take on the oxymoron roll, I suppose." Apr. 21, 2007:
"pssh i like the name jessie. infact i love it! but i do occasia=onally get annoyed with the common mis-spelling but who doesn't? and of corse there are guys named this too but that just means its popular! chyeahh and im also 14!! wootwoot go jessie!" Feb. 2, 2007:
"I'm 13 and my name is Jessie. I don't like this name because its always spelled wrong, people are always asking if my name is Jessica and some people just assume its Jessica. I have always suffered with this name and when I tell people my name is Jessie not Jessica they give me a glare like saying 'that's a guys name'.Please DO NOT name your child Jessie. When I grow up I'm going to change my name to something else." Jan. 28, 2007:
"well it's my name, I'm 14. Many people tend to call me Jessica even though it's just Jessie, It's frustrating when they can't call you just Jessie. They think it's a nickname, so they add endings to my name...even if you clearly inform people otherwise. And the name Jessie origninated from America, and DON'T forget to add the "i" so it's not a boy's name!" Jan. 17, 2007:
"My name is Jessie, and sometimes people call me Jessica ( which is really annoying ). Then I say to them my name is not Jessica it's Jessie and then they say yeah whatever. When some people write my name, they spell it "Jesse" but I tell them no again and tell them you spell it "Jessie"." Nov. 1, 2006:
