"Ingeborg is my middle name. I love this name it was my great grandmother's first name. But the one thing i dont like about it people think you pronounce it like it is spelt when you dont. It's pronounced Ingaboy. It really annoys me when people say it wrong" Jul. 21, 2009:
"Ingeborg is my name and I am from Norway. The name is originally from Scandinavia, therefore for example Americans find it quite diificult to pronounce correctly. You put the stress on "ge" and you have to pronounce the "r" correctly; put your tongue up against your palate and make a rolling sound, like: rrrrrrr. That's the correct way to pronounce Ingeborg." "I have to give this name the thumbs up as this is my mum's name :-) I do like it though, especially the first part "Inge". Sounds cool!" Apr. 26, 2006:

"My mother's name is Inge -- I like it, as long as it's pronounced properly...it's a soft almost silent 'g'. Ing-ah." May. 7, 2008:
"Ingeborg is a Scandinavian name carried by many prominent women in Scandinavian history and mythology. It means protection/shelter." May. 4, 2008:
"My name is Ingeborg. A difficult name to have. I have grown to like it. I never used Ingeborg though. Inge was different enough!! It is a pretty name and I have only met one person with that name. There is some ribbing related to the Swedish sexpot connotation... By men. Most people always think I am Swedish and I am not. I am Dutch and a slew of other things. Having a different name can be tough on some children. As one grows into adulthood it becomes easier. It is better than being Sara or Ashley. Though i named my daughter Sara..only because my husband wanted to name her Inge and I could not have 2 of the same in the same house. I like foreign names. I feel Inge or Inga is a pretty name. Everyone tells me how much they like it!" May. 4, 2007:
"this is my oma's name. she was born in germany in the late 1920s. she's lived in the US since about 1954, and goes by inge." Feb. 22, 2006:
