"My name is FONDALEETTE but, I use the nickname of Fonda. I was named after my grandmother who was born in 1914..I was told it's of french origin but who knows??..I've tried to research my name and have only come up with one other Fondaleette and a handful of Fonda's. The one Fondaleette was found in the same area that my grandmother was born so I'm thinking, possibly, she was a family friend who my grandmother was named after???......Anyway, I love my name!..not to many people out there have it. I would love to be able to learn the story behind this name some day!" Oct. 20, 2008:

"I know a boy named Fonda. When I first heard his name I thought people were talking about a girl but he was clearly a boy." May. 26, 2008:
"I have only met, maybe 3 othre Fonda's. I was born in 1963 and I hated my name. I could not write an incursive "F" to save my life and cursed my mother for naming me this. I used to tell people my name was Sarah! It began to grow on me and I started getting positive reactions...but people do think they hear me wrong, I get "Saundra" or "Tamara" People sometimes want to spell it Fawanda, or even Phonda...ha-ha. I do like my name now. I had once had someone ask me if I would mind if they named their baby "Fonda". I was flattered of course. I have an last name that sounds more like a first name and so all my life I have had people confuse my my name. When I got married, I hyphenated my name so people would "get it right" now my hyphenated name confuses people even more since the two last names sound more like first names...the saga continues. I thought of just changing it to one name only...but that costs too much. So, now I just give my first name, you know like "Cher". I get puzzeled looks, then I hand them my ID and they're lik oh, okay....My full name is Fonda Christy-Ali." Apr. 25, 2008:
