"I love it!!! My name is Etta and I love having that name. It's very unique, and you can't get it messed up. I'm actually the only Etta in my school out of 850 people!" Apr. 28, 2017:
"We have just named our baby daughter Etta. We wanted to call her Lunetta (Italian for LIttle Moon) but our parents didn't get it and said she would get picked on at School (Looney). The midwives didn't get it either. We then nearly went with Lucetta but in the end, as we'd been calling her Etta from day one, we have decided to go against picking a more formal longer name and just having a formal middle name instead. Etta made it onto my list as I love the songs of Etta James and read her biography also. I know she was no angel but the song she covered 'At Last' really sums up me stalling for so long regarding having my first child and taking on that responsibility. I can't wait to teach my Etta to sing Jazz and Blues numbers too, as I love singing!" May. 12, 2015:
"I hated my name growing up, because it was unique. Now I love it because it is a fun name. The funny thing is that I know of 3 moms this past year who have named their daughters Etta, mainly because Ella, Anna, Elizabeth, Emma & Emily are overused. Who would have thought?" Sep. 13, 2008:
"Love it!! Just wish I could get my husband to agree!" Mar. 3, 2007:
"I think that it is a nice alternative to Emma and Ella!" Dec. 31, 2006:

"I name is Etta, I was named after my grandmother on my Dad?s side ( Sally Etta ) I love my name especially now that I am older. I?ve enjoyed knowing it was me when I heard my name called. Also mom wanted me to be name Victoria because her Mother?s name was ( Lanie Victoria ) so my parents named me Etta Victoria. Thank you Dad and Mom for my beautiful name." Oct. 17, 2018:
"My mother named me after 2 of her sisters. One was named Etta Ruth, the other Electra Marie so my name is Etta Marie. I was made fun of going to school. A lot of time the kids were saying "I etta sandwich today. It really hurts. Also there was a doll that came out called "Etta Get Better" It didn't last long. Wonder why???" Jun. 24, 2013:
"My name is Etta! And I was born in 1993! I was named after my great aunt, who is an amazing lady :) So I love my name. After I starting learning Spanish when I was 15 though and in Spanish my name means "this one" It's hard to introduce myself to people sometimes too, because they always think I'm saying my name is Anna or Emma or Edna haha" Nov. 28, 2012:
"Could be one way to honour grandma Ethel whose own name is still considered by many people to be on the stuffy side (just like Beau, for either a boy or a girl, may honour grandma Beulah whose name is also stuffy). Etta James was a well-known African-American songstress of recent times. The name is also short for Henrietta, Rosetta, Margaretta, and Violetta." Jun. 13, 2008:
"Etta is the name of several well-known blues singers - Etta James and Etta Baker." Jul. 24, 2007:
"My grandma's name is Etta (obviously if you look at the trend that makes sense). I think it's pretty and about time it makes a comeback, now that Emma and Ella are really very popular--this is the perfect twist." Nov. 30, 2005:
