"My name is Erin Mary I love my name it?s sing songy. My dad wanted me to have a good ole Irish Catholic name and my mom named me the day I was born before consulting my dad. He was thrilled. I have a dear friend Erin Margaret she loves her name too
When we?re together we say Erin squared" Aug. 26, 2019:
"Erin is a gorgeous name, brings me happiness. Personally believe it should be spelt ?Erin? and pronounced ?Eh-rin?. It is a very unique name and anyone called it should say it with pride." Oct. 14, 2018:
"My names Erin and i live in northern Ireland so i know a lot of other erins. I don't have a nickname but i know erins who get called Rin or Rini. I like my name and think it suits me." Feb. 22, 2018:
"Hi my name is Erin Taylor! While growing up I wanted a cool nickname like my friends. One of my friends nicknames where viccy fory friend Victoria. I didn't know any nicknames for the name Erin and it kind of upset me. But, I had a couple baby nicknames like:Eri-bear, Eri-berry and Erie.when I got older I had knew friends in secondary school and we where chatting and then the conversation turned to nicknames (DON'T ASK ME WHY) and I finaly got a halve-decent nickname it was Rin another was Rii. Oh, and I was born in 1998 February 1st in Ireland . And I also noticed while growing up that I thought my me was really ugly and other girls names where prettier and also that not a lot of people had my name but when I got older I began to like having a unique name most people's names where saoirse and other names like that. But now I love my name! 😊" Jul. 15, 2017:
"I love my name "Erin Danielle." Simple but people on the phone often think I'm saying Ann as another commenter mentioned." Feb. 20, 2015:
"My name is Erin Niamh. I used to not like it but I suppose everyone's like that with their own name. But I do now it's quite unique. Even though I'm irish lol! I think it will be nice as an older adult because not many will have that name x" Jan. 8, 2015:
"I'm also an Erin, middle name Nicole. I was always called "E" as a child, and still am by close friends today. The only thing I never liked about my name are my initials "END". Also it does get a little tiring here older people tell me how Irish my name is and how obvious it is that I'm Irish between my first name being Erin and my last name being a very popular Irish sir name as well. If my name weren't Erin it would be a huge contender fort future daughter's name." Jul. 25, 2013:
"I am Erin Christine. Like the name, love the combo. Erin can work really well with certain last names, too- love it with the name I married into though won't list it here. If anyone asks for my name, my auto-response is "Erin, E-R-I-N" because few people get it. Often times customers will assume they will be speaking with a man Aaron when they hear the name. Oh well. Lastly, every Erin I have met has been intelligent and bright so I like being in this group." Apr. 10, 2012:
"i love my name! i have had no problems with people calling me the wrong name or spelling it differently. the only thing that i would change about my name would be to spell it different like Eryn because it would be different (:" Mar. 26, 2011:
"I'm Jai (J long i, no a pronunciation) Erin. Erin saved my bacon lots of times. I use it instead of my first name which I hate. No girls have my first name, but plenty of us with Erin. I think it is good. Didn't have many Erin's where I was. Just me and one boy, Aaron. Would efinately recomend it." Feb. 24, 2011:
"My name is Erin! I was born in 1982. I love my name! (but i hated it when i was little - i always wanted a name that had a nickname... other than "Air-in-head") However, i've come to LOVE it! I always have to spell it though on the phone, because people always think I am saying "Ann" for some reason. Also, you'd be surprised how many people spell it Aaron. I've never met a girl with this spelling, but many people spell it that way anyway. I'd highly recommend it for a baby girl!!! :)" Nov. 19, 2010:
"My name is Erin Beatrice (BE-IT-TRICE), my sister always says BE-AT-TRICE. But anyway, I love my name. I think it's unique and simple. But I really hate it when people spell my name wrong or pronounce it AIR-IN. It's AIR-RIN. Especially my friends, they'll spell it Arin,Aaron, or Airin." Jun. 7, 2010:
"I love my name! I'm Erin Margaret and my initials are pretty awesome too, EMC like the math equation. When I was little I hated it and wanted to be called Erica or Ariel but I grew into Erin." May. 13, 2010:
"I named my daughter Erin Elise in 1989, and I still think that it's beautiful. We wanted to name a daughter something that would suit her whether she was Chairman of the Board or a stay at home Mom. "Erin" works well. It is pretty, yet sophisticated. We called her Eri-Bell when she was little, and the family still calls her that." Apr. 7, 2010:
"My name is Erin Ann, I love it. I used to hate it but its really grown on me.
I have to be honest though I'v never been confused with an Aaron but I think it depends on the accent maybe(Im Scottish).
There are about 4 other Erins in my year but I don't really mind. The only things that annoys me are when people called me Ern and miss out the i and when people can't spell Erin which I find quite funny, I'v had it spelled Erne, Eirn, Eern and Aihrn. No Joke.
My dad calls me Ery which is the only ncikname related to my name I'v ever had and only he calls me that which I love. My friends sometimes call me Dolly but thats not really anything to do with my name, but I do really love my name. I think it suits me." Feb. 14, 2010:
"I loooove my name =) Erin Elizabeth~~ I hated when people would call me Aaron growing up... I'm not a big fan of the "Air-in: pronunciation, but I don't mind it. I usually say "Eh-rin" The only thing is there was never any good nicknames growing up... Now all I hear is "E-Dizzle" or "E-Dawg" lmao...." Feb. 13, 2010:
"My only beef are people who want to spell my name Aaron. Don't know why people do that.
I'm a early 80s child myself, but my Dad didn't get it from Happy Days, but from Buck Rogers's Erin Grey.
Yeah....." Jan. 6, 2010:
"My name is Erin (middle name is Mary), and I'm 22 years old. I really love my name! When I was a pre-teen, I hated that there were no nick-names for me (NICE nicknames), but the plus side of that is I never got made fun of for my name either. Now, obviously, as an adult that doesn't matter to me at all. It does get a wee bit annoying when the older crowd (seniors) tells me my name is 'a boy's name' - but lucky for me I don't have to work with them any longer (I use to be in geriatric nursing), and don't hear those comments from the younger or baby boomer crowds.
All in all, I love my name, and love to hear of new babies being blessed with it!" Sep. 23, 2009:
"My name is Erinn, two 'n's. I like it because it's different." Sep. 17, 2009:
"Another Erin Elizabeth here. As a child I hated my name. There was only one other Erin in my graduating class of 750+. I don't mind it so much now, although I still have people frequently misspell my name." Jun. 1, 2009:
"My name is Erin McCaskill. How Irish can you get right? But I love my name and wouldn't change it for anything!" Apr. 17, 2009:
"My name is Erin Elizabeth(I like using my middle name with it now). I used to hate my name. Everyone would mistake me for a guy even though its the girls spelling. People would even spell it wrong. It drove me crazy since i cant remember when. But now that i'm getting older i guess i've grown in to it. But now i love my name and i use my middle name with it so no one can mistake me for a guy anymore. But i absolutely LOVE my name!!!" Mar. 20, 2009:
"I'm an Erin Nicole, and i love it. Its original, sweet, and simple. Nothing to rhyme it with for mocking nicknames, not too popular, but not a completely out there name. I enjoy my name and find that here on long island no one pronounces it "aaron"" Mar. 7, 2009:
"I am another Erin Elizabeth. I love my name. I am 38 so there were not any other girls I ever knew of with my name. BUT there were Aaron's and noone can spell it right, even now! I do love the name though! Good Irish name :)" Jan. 14, 2009:
"No one has every really said my name wrong, but I have had some people spell it wrong... Aaron is a guy's name and i am a girl, therefore it is not Aaron but Erin. I don't have any nicknames related to my first name, that's why my first name is Erin, my mother didn't want me to have to deal with nicknames. I like my name, it is popular enough that people know how to say it and spell it but not so common that when someone says Erin, six people look at once. In fact the only time more than one Erin looks is in marching band because there is a boy Aaron in the same section as me. There are only five or six girl Erins in my high school and it is pretty big." Oct. 5, 2008:
"My name is Erin Elizabeth....I've always thought it was pretty. When I was in school (I"m now 33) it was very uncommon...now it's a dime a dozen. But I do like it more now when I hear others named Erin...definately misspellings...most spell it like a boy with an A, but less so now that the popularity has increased" Sep. 28, 2008:
"Hi!I'm Erin Elizabeth.I knew about what you mean when people spell it wrong or mispronounce it.It's four freaking letters, how hard is that.I also love my name and i find it very romantic. It means Ireland which is so very beautiful and were my family comes from!" Sep. 22, 2008:
"Hey guys my name's just plain Erin. I love my name because when I introduce myself [and my name is REALLY irish I have an O' in it lol] people don't really ask about my heritage. A lot of people think the name kind of sounds plain alone but I love it! Well, my nickname at home in truth is longer than my real name, it's Erin Rose. That's my middle name. I know bunch of other Erins but I'm pretty sure it's just the area I live in. I've had this name for 13 years and I think it is poetic and beautiful. It makes lovely Irish girl's name. And ignore the misspellings, mispronunciations, and Erin Go Bragh banners! [I feel your pain, lol.] There's not much else you can do to mess up this name. Although, I will admit the most repulsive ones were my friends attempts to find me a real nickname. [Arie, Eri, Ari, Rin...*shudders* they called me Little Arie-O for a few full months...] Otherwise, this is a very strong, lovely name for someone's sweet little Irish newborn :] or should I say lass? haha." Aug. 4, 2008:
"My name is Erin Colleen, and I have to say I have few complaints, though I do wish people would pronounce it correctly. I get a lot of people thinking my name is Aaron and a whole range of pronunciations from air-in to err-in. I never quite understood how such a simple name could be so confusing ;] As for nicknames, I've been called Er or Ers, but Erin is so short already, most people stick with calling me that. When it comes down to it, though, I suppose it's a nice name to have." Aug. 1, 2008:
"I love my name! I am Erin Leigh. I don't really have too many nicknames. Most of the time people just call me E or Eir. I don't know many other Erins. There were a few in high school and college, but since then I rarely meet an Erin. I have been called Erwin a time or two and being from the south, I often have to answer when people call me Ann." Jun. 19, 2008:
"I am Erin Rebecca. I love it! I am named after my grandmother and great grandmother so it means a lot to me. =)" Jun. 9, 2008:
"I have loved that name since I had a friend by that name growing up. So of course, my daughter's name is Erin Lyndsey. Her father is Irish, and well... you really can't get much more Irish than Erin, can ya?" May. 7, 2008:
"My name is Erin Moriah. Itřs so pretty. When I was little there were a few boys who teased that it was a boy's name but the name became more popular and people around me matured. I am 26 and even though the name is more common now, I still have people telling me that they've never heard of "Erin" before. Where have they been hiding? It bugs me when people spell Erin in any other way. I think we have a hard enough time keeping it straight from "Aaron"? I think the spelling of "Erin" is classic and I know that the classic spelling will age gracefully as I do. I can't imagine being 65 and still spelling my name as "Eryn". That just seems Juvenile." Mar. 31, 2008:
"I like my name for what it means and its connection to my Irish roots... but the nickname thing is a challenging one. For a long time I was very glad that I didnt have a nickname since I had heard some pretty horrible ones or at least the shortened versions of some names sound too childish. But, my friends finally found a nickname for me: Ern... and no, it is not pronounced like "urn". So now I am sometimes called Ernie, which i"m not really a fan of. :)" Mar. 13, 2008:
"My name is Erin Jean. I've always loved my name. The only thing that bothers me is when people say "Hi Mary" after I tell them it's Erin. They don't really hear what I'm saying. They hear what they want to." Jan. 30, 2008:
"It's my name also and growing up in a small town from the mid 70's through the 80's I was the only one. I could never find those cool personalized pencils with my name, drove me crazy. The kids would always tease me on st. patricks day when the Erin Go Braugh sign would go up, I can still hear "Erin needs a bra!". All that said, it's short, people know how to pronounce it and maybe it's my personality, but I think it's a strong name." Jan. 25, 2008:
"What a riot. I, too, am an Erin Elizabeth! How funny! I am in my late thirties. The name is nice because it gives a nod to my family's strong Irish heritage. Erin goes so much better with a crisp Irish last name. Especially those starting with O' or Mc. It sounds pretty to say and is fairly original. I didn't know one other girl named Erin is any class from K-12. Yes, sometimes ignorant people think it is spelled like a boy, or say "Erwin". I just shrug it off as ignorant, unworldly people. Not offensive at all. I am glad I am not a Sharon or a Karen. They seem more matronly and dated. Great Irish name!" Dec. 16, 2007:
"People always spell my name aaron or aron!
It gets me so mad!" Nov. 26, 2007:
"I'm an Erin Elizabeth, also. The funny thing was, my parents thought they were being original..." Nov. 25, 2007:
"this is my name and i love it. it suits me perfectly!" Aug. 19, 2007:
"my daughters name is erin and i think it is a lovely girls name a lot of people comment on the name and say how nice it is well i like it any way" Jul. 15, 2007:
"I love the name Erin it is very pretty. And I love the spelling of it too. Im going to name one of my children Erin for sure!" Jun. 15, 2007:
"Erin is a beautiful name. It means peace. I named myself Erin and when I say my name it blesses me." Apr. 6, 2007:
"This is my name, and it's awesome! When I was little, I didn't used to like it. I used to say, "Mom, why did you name me Erin?" And she'd say, "'Cause it's pretty.", and I'd say, "I don't like it", but now I love this name because in 5th grade at my school a lot of people come up with mean nicknames for kids. Erin doesn't really have anything you can come up with. The only thing people really come up with is that it's a boys' name too." Jan. 26, 2007:
"I'm an Erin...people also like to think that I have called myself Ann, especially over the phone, very difficult when leaving a message for someone. As far as a nickname goes, I'm thankful to not be stuck with one that is hideous! I did endure the wrath of "erin-go-braghless" as a child though, but who cares, just laugh, it's a beautiful name!" Jan. 22, 2007:
"that is a nice name ...............my aunts name is erin.my name is hannah" Jan. 3, 2007:
"erin is a very pretty name......my aunts name is erin" Jan. 2, 2007:
"my sister is called Erin it is a lovely name and we also live in ireland and people still find it hard to say" Nov. 30, 2006:
"I like my name a lot, but people do manage to spell it wrong. Nobody understnads what I'm saying, so I actually have to spell it out. I don't think it's because I mumble..." Nov. 13, 2006:
"Sometimes on the phone or when I am being shy people hear me say Ann or Karen, or even Mary. spanish speaking people aren't used to hearing it though. as a kid I didn't like having a name that could be for a boy, or the Erin airhead thing, but other than that, there really aren't annoying nicknames associated with this name. And it's short. I like it." Nov. 9, 2006:
"My sister is called Erin. I think it's a lovely name and not that common in England when she was born, but becoming more so now. She was named after Erin Walton...I pronounce it Air-run as if its American but most people in England seem to pronounce it like herring withhout the H or G." Nov. 1, 2006:
"i love it, i spell it Eryn.. even more unique. great name tho." Oct. 9, 2006:
"I love the name! One of my daughter's is named Erin!!" Sep. 13, 2006:
"I love this name and chose it for my daughter. The original meaning in old Gaelic is 'Peace.' It became a battle cry of sorts for Ireland then the meaning mutated to 'Ireland' over time. We named her for Peace... not Ireland ;)" Aug. 9, 2006:
"I love my name, though it is sometimes spelled Aaron. My mom's name is Karyn, so when people call, it can become confusing." Aug. 8, 2006:
"I like my name, when i was younger i used to get "Erin...isnt that a boys name?" alot, but not anymore.
I think Erin suits me, plus people cant think up stupid nicknames for me =D" Jul. 19, 2006:
"I like my name, it's a nod to my Irish ancestors. On the phone it can be easily misunderstood...a lot of people think I am saying Karen or Ann. As far as annoying nicknames go, the only ones people have come up with are "Ernie" or "Erroneous"." Jul. 18, 2006:
"In Pennsylvania, everyone knew how to pronounce Erin, but when I moved south, no one recognized the name and most people pronounced it Erwin and looked at it like it was an alien's name. I love my name though and the fact that it's unique and a tribute to my Irish heritage." Jun. 5, 2006:
"I like my name..kind of unique but not off the wall either. ;)" May. 10, 2006:
"I've always enjoyed having the name "Erin." I was the only one in my class growing up, so it was unique (yet not so unique as to be "weird")!" May. 2, 2006:
"My name is Erin, i love it. My ancestors are irish. My moms friends daughter is name erin too. my daughter is gonna name erin the second." Apr. 24, 2006:
"my name is mispelled more often than i can count, mostly because it has an extra N" Mar. 10, 2006:
"My name's Erin and I like it because it is unique. Growing up in school I was always the only Erin in class. It made me feel special. Now I have 3 kids and my husband and I decided to use unique and different names with our kids. (Tristan,Liam & Cassidy) People do have a problem spelling my name which still amazes me. They always assume to spell it Aaron. Which is the boy's way to spell it. And they when I say my name people think I sometimes say Karen or even Erwin!" Feb. 13, 2006:
"My name is Erin and I get Erwin, Karen, Arron, Sharon and almost anything that rhymes with Erin, instead of Erin, but i like it and all but 2 Erins I have met have brown hair and eyse like me, interesting i think." Jan. 26, 2006:
"I love the name Erin SO much! it is absolutly the best name in the word! It is beautiful! and sounds peaceful and calm." Dec. 15, 2005:
"I have never had a problem with me name. Always thought it was pretty. Only problem, people who don't know it is an American name, automatically assume I am from Ireland ( I do have a slight accent due to speech problems)" Nov. 19, 2005:
"I was born on St. Patricks Day, and Erin means "ireland" and "peace", so it's very fitting, and I;ve always liked my name" Aug. 27, 2005:
"I get "Karen" a lot too. There are a lot of people out there who misspell it or pronounce it "Erwin" even today! I also understand that it is uniquely American as far as being used as a baby name. Other than that though, I like it. No better way to let the world know you're Irish!" Jul. 28, 2005:
"I like its because its not likely I'll run into another Erin too many times in Kentucky and it makes me feel unique." Jul. 9, 2005:
"I like my name. It is short and sweet, but people often think that I am saying "Karen" or "Aaron" when I say it. Maybe I pronounce my own name the wrong way." Jun. 8, 2005:

"I hate my name. I've been called Air-in, Aron and even Err-in. I have to spell it out. If someone calls your name, all of the boys named Aaron will stand as well, so they may have to call you Erin followed by the initial for your last name. People often mistake me for a boy. Also, this name isn't easy to say, it just doesn't flow well. You will often be called "Air in head" as a mean nickname for those that think that there are no nicknames for this name. And on top of that, some older folks even say that it's a boy's name, which it might be to some degree. I hate my name so much, I might even change it." Oct. 30, 2021:
"Hi my name is Erin my middle name is Paige! I I am in 7th grade. I hate my name so much in math class there are 3 erins and Aaron's! And there are more in my grade! Whenever the teacher call on an Erin nobody knows who he's talking to. I wish my name was Paige instead Erin is just to plain and boring for me" May. 4, 2016:
"Erin Margaret! I hate it! In my personal view it's boring and no nicknames! My parents are a tad messed in the head and I don't talk to them anymore! But why Erin why not anything but that!" Feb. 20, 2013:
"This is my name and I've disliked it for 27 years. It screams my-parents-watched-happy-days-and-i-was-born-in-the-early-80s." Oct. 8, 2009:
"When someone yells this name all the Aarons and Erins turn around. Sounds blah." Jul. 4, 2009:
"I hat this name. All the people i know named Erin are snobby!" Jan. 12, 2007:

"My name is Erin. I used to hate it because it was a short name and I thought about changing it. But now since I have a boyfriend,he thinks it is a beautiful name for me, I am not going to change it. I love him and wouldn't do that to him." Nov. 21, 2014:
"Erin Nicole here. Never really loved or hated it. It's just okay, kind of plain. It fits me, I guess. Like everyone else, it gets old having to correct people and tell them that I am indeed not a male. Over the phone, people tend to think I say "Anne" a lot, too. I've never met a lot of my fellow Erins. My sister's best friend is an Erin and there was one more in my high school, but it wasn't until I started my current job that I started meeting a bunch of them. Almost every other day someone will say "Hey, that's my daughter's/niece's/friend's/sister's name."" Dec. 5, 2012:
"erin , eryn , aaeryn ,does any one know of any other ways to
spell this name?" Jul. 10, 2012:
"Erin Renee here! Shocking that I have to spell my name but most people (actually men) spell it with an "A". Also, when I say it, people think I'm saying Ann. Looking for a name for my third child and definitely want something more unique than my name was- there were Erin/Aaron's everywhere!" Oct. 29, 2010:
"hello, my name is Erin Valerie, i love my name and im happy my parents named me Erin, i think that it suits me well. :)"
