"My name is Christen and it is also pronounced wrong and misspelled wrong most of the time. Im am 18 and have yet ti me someone with the same spelled name as me. My dad named Christen off of Days of our lives lol." Nov. 20, 2010:
"Hi my name is Christen. I rarely meet people with my name spelled the same. EVERYONE always calls me Kirsten,Kristen,Crystal, Christian. And spell it wrong too. Usually its with the "Ch" or "in/an" It gets really annoying. My Fathers name is Christopher and my moms name is Lynne So they named me Christen Lynne so I had both of their names in mine. I like having a different name :)" May. 29, 2010:
"My name is Christen. At first I hated it because people who saw my name keep thinking I was a boy. After awhile I got use to it and liked that my name is unique and different. So many people have called me Christine and spelled my name with a K. Mostly my friends call me Chris which sound kind of boyish. I have never met a person with the name Christen." Jan. 11, 2010:
"My name is Christen as well. My mother's name is Christina and my parents wanted to give me a name that was close to hers. I am I don't know many people with the name "Kristen/Christen/Kristin", fewer whose name is spelled with a "CH," and even fewer who are african american. The only other "Christen" I met was white, and funny thing is I was the first black person she met w/ her name spelled the exact way! I have grown to like my name and the way it is spelled (in the 1st grade I purposely spelled it "Kristin" just like my best friend @ the time.) I will one day name my daughter a variation of it, or will give it to her as a middle name. It's nice to see I'm not the only "CHRISTEN" around!!! ;-)" Nov. 19, 2009:
"I named my daughter Christen because it is my favorite name. I spelled it with a "Ch" because my husband's name is Christopher." Sep. 11, 2009:
"My name is Christen, and I think it is so unique! I also love how it has religious meaning." Aug. 5, 2009:
"My youngest sister is Christen Joy. That seems to be a pretty common combo. I love this spelling because it emphasizes the "Christ," and I think is more graceful and unusual." Mar. 25, 2009:
"thats my name! whoo my mom said she named me it because it was a christian name,,specifically christen because kristen or kristin is too ordinary.." Mar. 25, 2009:
"people always spell my name wrong and pronounce it wrong. i normally get, kirsten, christine, Christain, Chrystall. oh well i suppose life goes on. :D" Apr. 2, 2008:
"I do like that it is a fairly common name but spelled in a unique way. Unfortunately, people do mispronounce it and misspell it... a lot. But, it teaches someone to be patient!!!" Feb. 12, 2008:
"I LOVE my name (Christen)! I think it's a unique twist on a common name which gives me the best of both worlds: people remember you, but not so odd that it might cause embarrassment (now or in the future). I've met only 2 other people w/ the same spelling and know of a third. Also, at 38 I still receive compliments on my name--especially the spelling--from people generations younger than me. That said, the only minor annoyance is that some people mispronounce it as either, "Christian" or "Christine"...I've even gotten a few "Christina's" though I'm not sure how people made that link." "Our daughter is Christen and we love her name. We spelled it this way because it is so beautiful. We thought the spelling would be simple for people to grasp. It has turned out the opposite. At school her records showed her to be our son. I would correct them over and over. After numerous phone calls and meetings it is corrected. We chose this spelling for the unusual spelling, but we never thought it would be so difficult for people to grasp. We call her Chris and she is also known as Chrissy. She loves her name and prefers to be called Christen. The nicknames are for her family only." Feb. 19, 2012:
"I am 29 now and Christen is my name as well and i have come across the same problem, people pronouncing it incorrectly and of course calling me everything from christy, christian, kristen, kirsten, kathy???, to just HEY YOU, I am just like all of you in that I dont understand why its so hard i mean its chris ten lol anywho its also very hard to find anything with your name on it as, unless u have it specially made, which I am sure that you all know. I also have not run into anyone with the same spelling either." Aug. 16, 2011:
"As a Man I am not keen on being called Christen. Afterall, it is a womans' name. Although, I am interested to see one or two of you refer to the name as a boys name. I also get the usual mis-pronounciations and odd spellings. Generally, I prefer to be called Chris in work and at home." Sep. 27, 2010:
"My name is Christen and in my 28 years I have yet to meet another Christen who spells her name the same. My name is almost always mispronounced. I'm often called Christine, Christina, etc. I'm sure it's attributed to people not taking the time to look at all the letters. It's also mispelled frequently...It's to easy to spell, people like to make things hard. I love my name and it's unique spelling." Jul. 16, 2010:
"my name is christen, and i love my name! i often get called christian, and by people i have known my whole life, so that makes it worse! on the bright side hearing people mispronounce my name so much, has tought me patience!" Jun. 12, 2010:
"hi my name is christen. people always say my name wrong like christall and it is always spelled wrong. but anyway i like it" Apr. 7, 2010:
"Christen is my middle name. My mom thought the K would be too harsh, so she went with Ch... LOL! I like it ok... I like that it means to live for Christ! And my first name is Stacia which means ressurection, so my full name has great meaning and depth!!" Dec. 10, 2008:
"This is my name and it ends up spelled wrong almost 100% of the time. People also think that I am a guy. I was born in 1969 and my parents attempted to give me an unususal name and it backfired, there were 4 variations in kindergarden" Jun. 28, 2008:
"My name is Christen also, and I love it. Its true that alot of people tend to mis-spell it. I've been called Christain, and occationally Christine. I've never met another person with the same spelling, and I think your child will love it." Nov. 15, 2007:
"people often spell or pronouce my name wrong because there are so many different ways to pronounce and spell it. plus this name can make other names like christine or christal or christy." May. 7, 2006:
