"My name is Ceiceli. Pronounced Ces-suh-lee.Because it was hard to pronounce for my elementary teachers i went by my middle name. But i learned to embrace the name when i got to Highschool. its been unique spelling all my life but ive met about two who has had similar name, different spelling. I think its pretty and classic--like me! lmao" Jun. 19, 2018:
"This is my my name and I feel exceptionally special for being named Cecile. I was told that the correct pronunciation (at least for me ) is CESyuhl. About 80 percent of people call me suhCILLE, and most of the rest just call me Ces. It's a rare thing for someone to actually say it right. Regardless, I'm happy to have my name!" Feb. 23, 2017:
"My daughter was born in 1996 and we pronounce it as you would Cecily, similar to the word simile or posse. Of course anyone familiar with the French pronunciation swears we are saying it wrong... however, in the rules of the english language there is basis for the pronunciation. She loves her name, it is as unique as she. Her last name is more difficult than the first though, so she is resigned to it always being wrong. :)" Mar. 8, 2011:
"It's my name, spelled the original French way with an accent. (Cřcile).
Best way to pronounce it would be something like "say seal"
I'm happy with this name!" Feb. 26, 2010:
"I love the name CÚcile!
My husband and I are going to name the little girl we're expecting CÚcile and we are including the accent as my mother is French and I'm a dual citizen - US/French. I have a difficult name myself that has been misspelled and mispronounced my entire life (35+) years, and though annoying, I'm so happy to have a unique name. I'm just used to correcting/repeating my name to each and every person I meet for the first, second and third time!!" Jul. 19, 2008:
