"My name is Candice lol. I love it actually. Most people call me Candle though." Mar. 6, 2016:
"I am Candice. I was pretty insecure as a child and didn't like my name. As others have also said, no one could pronounce it... Kansas/canvas seemed to me the default. And I am pleased to see other Candice's (in whatever variation they spell it) felt it had a hard sound between transition of the n to the d. I always wondered why I couldn't have a more feminine name. And was always baffled (as others have said too!) when I received compliments, which is often, on my name! That being said, I never minded the nick name Candi but found as I got older that others hated that nick name for me saying it sounded like a stripper name. Out of spineless-ness during my teens and early 20s, I would naturally reject this nick name based on others views. Tho one girlfriend of mine, who is one of the sweetest souls I ever met, called me Candi since we were young. She was allowed =>. Candi/y can be a sweet endearing nickname based on who calling you that.
Now that I am well into adulthood in my 30s, I do feel my name suits me very well. I am an artist and entrepreneur and find the name to be professional enough, feminine enough, and above all not pretentious in any way which is important. I am not over the top in personality unless I'm comfortable enough to let the goof ball out =>. I feel because of my growth as a respectable human being into adulthood, the name sounds different to me. It sounds elegant and unique. Bc of the way I choose to carry it.
All in all, I think Candice is a great name (no matter how you spell it people! No one is better than anyone else) to grow or transform into! It's a name that is changeable and moulding and it's yours to turn into something beautiful! Work it!
Love and light <3" Nov. 1, 2014:
"I love my name. I am surprised no one on here was ever called "Can," or "Cand" because all my closest family, friends and boyfriend call me that. Candy is a fun nickname sometimes but I much prepfer Candice. Its different, elegant, and a classic name. It fits me well.!" Jul. 3, 2014:
"My name is Candice and I like it. sometimes it bothers me how the 'n' stops followed by the hard 'd'. However, I have received a lot of compliments on the name which is always reassuring. I knew a few Candice's growing up but none of them spelled it the same way. Now I dont ever come across anyone with my name which i prefer. People always pronounce it correctly unless they aren't American and I don't mind spending extra effort to explain its pronunciation or i just let them call me the usual "can deese." I do wish my name was more unique or "out there" as I am an artist, but I think the name suits me and I like its meaning. I tend to like my spelling best. I've come across some strange spellings like Kandass (?!?) . My mother absolutely hated the nickname Candy and wouldn't allow anyone I call me that. So my nickname has always been Can but only by close friends and family. I have just a handful if friends that call me candy or candy came but mostly just jokingly. I have always wondered what type of name Candice is . I know it's not like a Sarah or Mary or Rebecca and isn't like a Madison or Taylor. What type of name is it????" Aug. 1, 2013:
"I'm a Candice. Call me "Candy" and prepare to die! I've heard it all: "candeese", "cand-ace", "candazz". I give most of my in-laws a pass on mucking up my name, since most are British or French, so they pronounce the word in an odd way. The correct pronunciation in Canadian English is "candiss"." Jul. 25, 2012:
"My name is Candice and I love it because I feel that it is fairly unique. I was the only Candice in my high school. Sometimes people think I'm saying my name is Janice or Kansas, especially over the phone, which is a little annoying. My mom was a big Murphy Brown fan so that's where she got the name/spelling. When I was born, my grandfather held me at the hospital and said, "That's my little Candie Baby," so that nickname stuck in my family (mind you, I'm almost 30 now so it can get a little embarrassing when my grandmother introduces me with that name). My friends call me Candie Bee, as my maiden name starts with "B". I have several other nicknames from friends including Candie Bandit and Candie Cane." Jul. 1, 2012:
"I LOVE having the name CandICE! NON 'biblical' version apparent-ta. Close friends and family call me Candy and Candice as a formality. Its funny that there is another "reardon" with my first name!! The only person who cannot pronounce my name is my hubbys 70 yr old nana, who calls me Canvas..." Apr. 5, 2012:
"I've always loved my name Candice! It's Candice Amanda so my family called me Candi Mandi. I've always gone by Candi. Candi suits me. It's beautiful and unique. I'm 29 and have only known a few people with the same name." Dec. 12, 2010:
"hahaha my name is candace reardon and alot of my friends call me candy ... or candy cane ...candy apple ect.... i never really did like my name untill last yeasr when it ment queen of somethin ... i love my name it is uniqe and beautiful and i dont want it any outher way ps i love my best friends jessie and megan" Mar. 16, 2010:
"Oh my word! I'm not alone! I never understood why people say Can-DEES, especially when you've just told them it's Can-DISS. I never liked my name at first as I always thought it had a "hard" sound but now I love it :)" Mar. 9, 2010:
"My name is Candice (named after Candice Bergan) and I love it. I wasn't a fan when I was little because I was surrounded by Ashleys and Sarahs but as I got older I loved that I am generally the only Candice around, it is a common enough name that I don't have a huge problem with people not pronouncing it correctly but not so common that Candices are a dime a dozen like some other names. I have so many nicknames that include but are not limited to the obvious "Candi/Candy" and others such as Canadee, Canada, Candycane, Candi Lou (my middle name is Louise), and several other variations of my name. I do get annoyed when people spell it wrong sometimes however, I'm okay with the occasional "Candace" but I hate hate hate some of the ridiculous ways people spell it (I've also come across some people who spell it these ways): Canduss/Kanduss, Candise/Candase, Kandice/Kandace, and several others, one time someone even spelled it "Kennis" when I gave them my name for an order of food.
I like "Candice," I think it's pretty and simple and suits me well, I'm glad my parents didn't name me Chelsea like they had originally planned." Feb. 21, 2010:
"My name is spelled "Candace" which I am sure is the "original" way (since it's in the 1611 AD KJV Bible that way, lol) .... but I realize people spell names a lot of different ways.
I also have been called CandaNce ... where people get that extra N I have no clue ... but I am 56 years old, I use Candace as a "business letter" name ... I do like it ... I think it is rather elegant and sophisticated and very UNlike the shortened form, Candy ... HOWEVER, having said that, I don't get why most Candaces/Candices do NOT want to be called Candy ... I've been Candy all my life and it keeps me young! I LIKE being called Candy instead of Candace .. I definitely PREFER being called Candy over Candace. If I go to a new doctor or dentist, I fill out the forms Candace (Candy) so that they know that is what I prefer. Even so, Candace definitely comes in handy when I want to appear "serious" such as a business letter/email." Jan. 2, 2010:
"Hello :) My name is Candaze, I really like it, its very different here where I live :) Though people come to make bad jokes as "That Candaze, she Can Daze, HAHA" Oh yeah, they are so funny right? -.- Anyway, I really like the name. And mostly people calls me Candy, which is evry cute ^^" Oct. 31, 2009:
"My name is Candice Also. And I get called Candy, Candy-Cane, CottonCandy, Mostly Candice though. :))" Jul. 10, 2009:
"im Candice i was born in 96 so 2day im 13. Growing up all my friends say that its a nice name. I Love my name, i wouldnt trade it for another, although alice or andrea wouldbe nice name :/ but still...i love it and im happy i was named after Candace Burgan lol" Jun. 4, 2009:
"My name is spelled ending in -ace. To be honest, i never really liked my name growing up because i feel like it never sounded feminine enough like other female names that end with an -a or -ie but as ive grown older i feel like my name suites me very well. Like others, ive received many compliments and have always been taken back by them...but people like it. People also screw my name all the time and the most irritating is when they spell CAN-DANCE or say KANSAS...but it is what it is. My mother was going to name me Chantal, im glad she didnt!" May. 10, 2009:
"G'day! I'm Candice and in school i used to be called a few wierd names, like, headlice, can-of-dice, candi, can-dance, but i love my name. alot of my friends call me Candi for short but that doesnt matter to me, i remember when a teacher tried to pronounce my name CAN-DEECE, wats with the EE's?!
I'm glad i am Candice, my other sisters are named Emily and Aimmee, very original i think but mine suits me! i love it!!" Mar. 31, 2009:
"My name is Candice.. big surprise. :) I loved the comments I read... lol.. you guys get called Candance too! lol! I even get Cander or Candid sometimes.. its annoying but no the end of the world. Our name does seem to have lost its popularity. My Dad also had a thing for Candice Bergen so thats probably why I got the name too. funny what we Candice's have in common. :)" Feb. 13, 2009:
"My name is Candice. I never really thought about whether I liked my name or not. I'm 21 now, and I can appreciate its uniqueness. I have received compliments and I was always taken aback by it. I think that it is a pretty name that is classy and timeless. Of course I'm a little biased as I'm sure most of us Candices are! Surprisingly, no one calls me Candy! Many times, when I introduce myself to someone they will ask me if people I know call me that. I have the pleasure of saying NO! haha. Candice is not as popular name as I thought it would be. Hopefully, we can bring the name back!" Jan. 12, 2009:
"My name is "Candace". And I like it although I haven't known any other names. I do prefer the "ace" but I am biased. Only a few dear friends get away with calling me "Candy". Everyone else gets 2 strikes and they are out. It is funny watching the people at Starbucks try to figure out the spelling. And it is fun to have my name misspelled on my coffee cup all morning. HA! Candace Brightman is one of my heroes so I feel honored to share the name." Jan. 9, 2009:
"of course as you can guess my name is Candice! haha. and yes, i do love it! It's cute. I use to want a different name but i have come to realize that no other name would fit me better! my best friend calls me "Dice Dice" :)" Dec. 19, 2008:
"I spell my name the original biblical way. "Candace". I feel pretty lucky to have such a strong name. Though most of my life I have been called Candy.
I find it a bit strange from reading the different comments on here that people have misspelled their names the classic way and they really have the "ice" ending. I usually get the opposite. I have "ace" as in the number one and have been referred to the colder version. Though I do have to agree that getting the misspelling of CAN-DANCE is very irritating.
More people need to name their kids with this leader status! To be a queen is an honor, even if it's just in a name! ;)" Dec. 7, 2008:
"my name is candice some times it is hard beacause people say things like candy and i hate it" Nov. 21, 2008:
"My name is spelt Candice and it is pronounced Can-dis...However, most people pronounce it Can-deece or Can-dice. Come on people! I wish people would pronounce it the way I say it to them. Most times I just tell people call me Candy, that way they can't go wrong!" Sep. 15, 2008:
"I have always gotten compliments my entire life on my name. and I love spelling it "ice" v. "ace". I'm just glad I wasn't a boy, bc my mom was going to name me Oliver. heee hee heee." Aug. 17, 2008:
"It's as a good of a name as you're gonna get. Hate when people mispronounce the name as "Can-dance", "Cadence", or "Kansas." Seriously, the name should be easy to say, but I've gotten all three a LOT." Jul. 3, 2008:
"Wow!! I feel special since i think im the only Candiż. Yes my i have an accent on the "S" which make me unique. and i love it. im glad my mom decided to name me Candiż instead on shawntia." May. 22, 2008:
"My mom named me candice instead of anything else and i love it, I love correcting people to because they look like idiots after. I dont care what people say. plus you can make so many nicknames out of it." Apr. 8, 2008:
"My moms name is candice and i've only met like 2 other people that spell it that way! i love it its soo pretty!" Mar. 24, 2008:
"i was born in '73...
my father's favorite actress at the time was candice bergen.
i have to say that i'm glad he got to name me because my mom was going to name me samantha and call me sam. no offense to anyone with that name, but i much prefer candice.
never thought i would since i hated it growing up...
everyone thought my name was either "kansas" or "candance"..." Mar. 18, 2008:
"I like this name because it has a nice ring to it." Mar. 4, 2008:
"It's cool to have my name to be used as a title for queens. That's "ROYALTY" and God knew what He was doing when my daddy named me. Oh, yes, people spell my Candace all the time. I have gotten use to and go on. I don't like to be called Candi because it reminds me of a stripper name;-). I've met a couple girls names spelled Kandyce and Candace." Dec. 31, 2007:
"I think its a lovely girly name and its not boring and its NOT tacky" Nov. 14, 2007:

"my name is candice carla and it is the best name in the whole world, and fits me to a tee. thank you mom and dad." Jan. 15, 2007:
"its my name candice dawn i love it ive never had another girl in my class the whole way through school with it so i feel special i used to think though that emma or emily or allison would have been cool cos there were a few in my class but its way to common now so i love my name" Dec. 4, 2006:
"My name is Candice (CAND-ISS) and I've loved it all my life! Even though I was named because 'Murphy Brown' was on the hospital TV at the time of choosing my name (Candice Burgen was the star). I've always been very stubborn and outspoken about its pronunciation. Where I grew up everyone new I'd meet would try to pronounce it CAND-EESE and they'd quickly get corrected. Also, I've found that every other Candice I meet has blonde hair. I'm a brunette so I'm beginning to wonder if I'm the only one?" Aug. 15, 2006:
"My name is spelled Candace I have always went by that! I am 21 yrs old now growing up I didnt like it because people wanted to call me Candy! But as I have gotten older I love my name I wouldnt change it for the world. I rarley run into people with my name and when I do its so cool! They dont run into people as often either so we talk about how each one spells it!" Jun. 15, 2006:
"I like it, because it's my name. But it's pretty unique... not so unique that people have never heard of it, but unique enough that I don't have any friends with the same name, and I can be everyone's favorite Candice. Spelling it with an "i" is way better than an "a" too... but everyone always misspells it!" May. 1, 2006:

"My name is Candis. I hate it. I wish my name were something cute or fun but no it is Candis. I don't like the sound of it. I don't like the spelling. I don't want this to be my name. It is forever spelled wrong, pronounced wrong and it is often forgotten. I have been mistakenly called Constance. One time I told someone my name is Candis and they called me Amanda :(" Nov. 2, 2018:
"My Name is Candice. But people call me Candy Cane. People dont know how to say my name right thats why i hate it so much." Mar. 24, 2013:

"I don't like it. I had a fourth grade teacher who repeatedly called me Candeece. I think the name Candice is harsh sounding." Mar. 7, 2018:
"I'm a Candice - My mom refused to let people call me Candy when I was younger. I've gone by Candee (after a few year stint of spelling it Candy) for 23 years but my family calls me Candice or Can. I've definitely had people mispronounce and misspell i by adding extra letters. I've known other ladies with the same name but it's not too common." Oct. 20, 2016:
"Spelled Candace for me. Misspelled ALL THE TIME as Candance. Where the heck to people always get the extra N from? No other misspelling bothers me as long as it sounds like the same name! If you're going to name your kid this spell it with the "i" the candance thing only happens to Candaces with an "a"." Oct. 8, 2014:

"my name is candice and i'm from indonesia.. a lot of indonesian people think that my name is unique.. they used to call me "can" :)" Mar. 25, 2010:
"My mom used the 'ice' spelling (which I think does fit my personality) so I could be Candi(which does not), then she never even called me that(phew!). I don't like the sound of the name, and I hate that 1) people don't understand and repeat it back to me WRONG like 4 times(I get Tammy a lot for some reason), and 2) spell it with an A. It's not that difficult! I do get compliments on it a lot from the people who have heard the name before, but it doesn't outweigh the negatives I've faced with it my whole life. I was almost a Chelsea. Oh, well." Jan. 3, 2010:
"My name is Candice, I do enjoy my name but i've noticed where I like 95% of people can't pronounce it. I end up getting called kansas a lot. I actually don't go by Candi I go by Dizz, which makes sense because when my mom would try to help people pronounce my name she'd say "Can-dizzzz" so they just called me dizz lol.
I get made fun of a lot for my name, mostly because my new last name is cameron so my name is candice cameron, like DJ off full house (like i need to remind anybody)" Nov. 1, 2009:
