"I am partially Italian on my dad's side, and I got the name from my great-grandmother. It kinda became a family name, with cousins/second cousins having it as their name/ middle name. I do really like my name, it's very unique, but there is always an issue with people pronouncing or spelling it incorrectly (I pronounce it Awe-Ray-Lee-Ya). I've kind of just learned to respond to most pronunciations, or when a teacher hesitates during role call! As a nickname I'm usually called Lia or some form of Ray/Rayli" May. 13, 2020:
"My Name is Aurelia I am 64 years old and it got me many jobs in my early 20 because they have never heard of it. My biggest surprise where I wrong for a judge and the Client name was Aurelia and they kept calling me over the intercom. So I went up to her and show her my I.D. and she was shock. she was about 30_35 I never knew so many people had that name thank you for the history" May. 1, 2020:
"Well, I definitely love my name. The only thing is that if someone doesn't know you and they read it they can't say it; but if they hear it they can't spell it. That's the fun in it though c: Also the compliments you might get on your name are nice too." Apr. 16, 2020:
"Named my daughter Aurelia Soleil. Got Aurelia from "Love Actually" and we call her Lia for short. She loves her name even though kids can't say it correctly. It's a beautiful, unique name and I always hear from parents how pretty it is." Oct. 5, 2016:

"My name is Aurelia and I have loved it every second of my life! In the 60 years I've lived I've never met another Aurelia. My daughter Carolyn recently had her first daughter in which she named Renee. I'm upset that these new names are kicking in, but at least I'm one of the few Aurelia's left on this earth. God bless this earth!" Jul. 25, 2007:

"My mum was called Auriel, which is basically the same name. I believe it's origins are Roman and I think that it was originally Aurelia and various adaptations have subsequently emerged." Jan. 13, 2006:

"My name is Aurelia. My father named me it and I?ve always loved it. I was always the only person in school named it, verses the multiple Raelins or Maddies. The only problem I?ve ever had is people pronouncing it wrong. The closest people ever get is ?ah-RE-lea?. The correct way to pronounce it is ?ah-RAIL-eah?." Nov. 15, 2018:
"My name is Aurelia, and for those who are named the same; you have been saying your name wrong. I'm Hispanic, and I inherited the name from my great-great grandmother as well. The origin of the name is Latin & Roman, meaning "gold" and/or "golden". To pronounce it is not "Ah-real-ya". Whoever told you that is wrong. It is "Aw-rel-lee-uh"." May. 8, 2017:
"The first time I heard the name "Aurelia" was several years ago when I saw the movie "Love Actually" I know it's cheesy, but the moment I heard it, I knew that if I ever had a baby girl, that would be her name. Now, 5 years later, I have an 11 month old "Aurelia." I've never met another Aurelia, but every where I go people just love her name." Feb. 10, 2008:
"I think of the pronounciation being more of "AH-rail-ya"" Jun. 15, 2007:
"I think its such a pretty name with the connotations of "golden", I have never heard of an Aurelia in England and I think it would be pronounce Aw-ray-liya here!" Oct. 9, 2006:
"My name is Aurelia. It was my great- great grandmother's name. I love it. My only problem was that my peers didn't relly know how to pronounce it. Older people did. I Love my name because I was always the only Aurelia in school. The correct way to pronounce my is AH-real-ya." Aug. 9, 2005:
