"My name is Vaughn.
Overall I think its a very strong, unique, and cool name. Not so unusual that it is jarring, but uncommon enough that people notice it. When you first met someone a conversation about your name is a high probability.
One cool thing is that people are very, very likely to remember you. Even if you only met briefly a long time ago.
Also the way you pronounce it will depend on if your accent has the caught-cot merger or not. I pronounce those words the same, so I think it is pronounced like 'von', as in the german title." Jan. 21, 2016:
"Just named our daughter Vaughn. All great responses so far from those we've told. This is a perfect name for her and a great name for girls!" Feb. 9, 2015:
"I named my son Vaughn Andrew back in 1990. I loved the name when I found it in a baby book. He is 23 years old now and loves the name because he has never met another Vaughn, so he feels unique. He was the only Vaughn all through school and college and now that he's getting married, he wants to name his son, Liam. Another unique name and I love it." Oct. 8, 2013:
"My son is called Vaughan James, I think its a great name.Although not one of the most popular names people comment on how unique and lovely it is. His little brother always says "why didnt you call me Vaughan"" May. 17, 2013:

"My husband and I had our son on January 27th 2008. We had a list of names to choose from for him because we wanted to meet him before we decided and feel his personality. When he was born we waited a day but, finally decided he was a Vaughn for his middle name we choose Kye after my husband's deceased Mother. As he has grown we are so happy we choose Vaughn. So many people have complimented us on his name and we just love it. He is the sweetest little guy my true Little Angel!" Apr. 13, 2011:
"Great name for any boy. We named our little son Vaughn born July 23, 2010 and could not be happier, he looks like a Vaughn :=)" Dec. 1, 2010:
"I love my name - it is unique and different, even distinguished, without being strange or silly. People comment that is is theatrical, like a stage name someone would make up to replace a more conventional name. I have only met one other person in the flesh who has my name so I feel unique. I explain its complex old-English spelling by referring people to the similarity to the sound of the words "caught" and "taught"" Oct. 23, 2010:
"My name is Isabelle Vaughn and I think Vaughn is a lovely name." Sep. 16, 2010:

"I was named Vaughan by my father because he heard the named used by a Bishop here in Australia. My name is always being mispronounced, however I love the name because it is unique and unusual people never forget my name. Well I should say it was unique until a person moved here with the same first name and surname. Even though the named originally meant small, I am well over 6 feet tall - makes a good talking point :)" Nov. 17, 2009:
"My name is Vaughn, and i have only met one other Vaughn ever. Frankly I absolutely love the name. It's originally a Welsh/English/Celtic name, and is also spelled Vaughan. It means "little" or "small" and is actually a unisex name thought it is mostly given to boys.
But if anyone wants to name their girl Vaughn, I say go for it! It's a great name!" Aug. 5, 2009:

"My name is Vaughn and i'm a girl! I love having my name because it's unique. The only problem is people don't know how to properly spell/ pronounce it and the nicknames are always weird." May. 18, 2020:
"My name is Vaughn Sewell, I have only met 1 other Vaughn (spelt the same) and I am not too fond of my name, I love that is different but is hard to spell out to people in loud situations (work, clubs, drag races) people think my name is spelt vorn or think my name is Sean (Shawn), I do like my name but it is had to communicate sometimes because of a lisp.." Jan. 25, 2020:
"My name is Vaughn. I was born in 1967. I've known a few other Vaughns although some are spelt Vaughan. It's ok having a unique name although it was difficult as a kid. I'd often be misheard as Paul or Ron. It perhaps made me reluctant to be singled out of an audience. I have been told I have a stong name and sometimes people say they love the name." Aug. 16, 2019:
"My son is called Vaughan Thomas and we live in England, my family are welsh and my surname originally was Vaughan....he loves his name and he has no one in his school with that name. Although he has several friends called Jack. I can't keep up with the Jack's in his year at least 15! I love the name Vaughan I call him vaughany as his nick name." Jan. 14, 2019:
"I really like the name Vaughan, if i have a boy i will call him Vaughan. It sounds unique, classy and strong without being too wayout. I have met a couple of Vaughans over the years and they have definitely strengthened my love of the name, the way it is spelt and the way it sounds. I think James goes well with Vaughan." Oct. 11, 2018:
"My 28 year son's name is Vaughn, sounds like dawn. I'm from the east coast. Since I moved to Alaska friends call him Von spelled vaughn. When I call my sons name they say .huh? You mean Von? No, vaughn, like lawn or dawn! You sure? Yes! I named him, I should know, so there, consider your region" Apr. 2, 2015:

"My name is Vaughn. I have never liked it. However, I have found out that women generally like it, so that's a plus. I guess it doesn't matter if I like as long as other's do. Another plus is that I was the only one in my class with that name, so I didn't become VaughnX or Vaughn1." Nov. 30, 2011:

"When I was pregnant with my first son, I couldn't think of a middle name to go with Vaughn, so I used it as a middle name. His first name is Cristian. I can't stand the name Cristian now. They used to call him Cristian at school, until we put a stop to that. Now,Ican think of quite a few middle names for Vaughn. Vaughn Aaron. Vaughn Eric.I went on to name my 3rd son Sean Aaron." "My name is Vaughn and I am very happy with my name. It is often mispronounced or misspelled but people often remember my name because it is unusual for a first name. I actually went to elementary school whose principles name was Vaughn... Only other Vaughn I have met. I recently had a second cousin name his son Vaughn so I think it may be becoming a well liked name." Jan. 22, 2007:
"V A U G H N... Like the word "laugh" but without the "n" so for some reason you remove the "n" and all of a sudden "gh" makes the "f" sound in laugh? Very interesting language we all speak. My last name is Vaughn. Pronunciation has always been an issue to those who have never seen the name. The Germans got it right when they spelled it "von," but I will take the unnecessary vowels and consonants that have been used to spell and pronounce my last name for years before me, and years to come. - V A U G H N -" Jan. 18, 2007:
"We named our son Vaughan with an extra "a" because he is named after the great blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughan. His name is always being mispronounced - Vo-gon (like he's some kind of alien) or van, but I love it because it is unique but not kooky." Aug. 18, 2006:
"my name is vaughn and people always pronounce it wrong it's von" Feb. 25, 2006:
"So, since there's a trend in gender-neutral names (Peyton, Leslie, Alex, Jessie...) would it be so awful to name a girl Vaughn? It is a beautiful name to look at...it's not like Bruce or Chuck or a typically "masculine" name...any thoughts?" Jan. 7, 2006:
