This is a big name to carry, like Arthur." Jan. 5, 2006:
"My friends name is Roland and for the most part people get it right. But some times people see it and say Ronald cause they misplace the "N" and "L"." Aug. 8, 2005:
"Occasionally gets mis-pronounced as 'Rah-land'; I a child I was sometimes teased as 'Rolaids', and often when I meet someone new, if they're sort of.. dumb.. they'll start singing the theme from Rawhide (Rollin' Rollin, Rollin'.. keep them doggies rollin'..)
I'm happy with it, though - it's a family name inherited from my father (and a great-great grandmother in the past), and somewhat uncommon - certainly less so than the ubiquitous 'John' and 'Dave'.." May. 27, 2005:

"When I was little I grew up watching Roland Rat on television. More recently there has been the fictional villain Roland Daggett in 'Batman: The Animated Series (aka The Adventures Of Batman And Robin)', a corrupt businessman who knew Catwoman's real identity as Selina Kyle and even addressed her as "Selina". There was that episode "Batgirl Returns", where Daggett stole the Jade Cat statue from the Gotham Museum in a bid to frame Catwoman for the theft - but only for Catwoman and Batgirl to team up to bring him down. It turned out that Catwoman had long held a grudge against Daggett, when he and his henchmen tied both Catwoman and Batgirl up until Robin the Boy Wonder came to the heroines' aid and Daggett was eventually defeated."
