"We named our son "Otis" after my great grandfather. He was a great man. So many family members on my husband's side hated it! Now EVERYONE loves it! We haven't heard of another young Otis so far and his name fits him perfectly. Now we are pregnant with a girl and trying to find something equally nostalgic and fitting for her!" Feb. 7, 2011:
"I named my son Otis, born 2008. I like traditional names that sound hip again. He is an adorable blue eyed blond who I think is cuter because of his original name. It lends itself to lots of cute nicknames. Everyone at daycare knows who Otis is rather than the other names that we see over and over again. My friends who have named their kids common names really don't get it, but that's okay." Jun. 9, 2010:
"What a cool name! I can see "Otis" on a baby, a child, a teenager, a father, or a grandfather. It's the sort of name that grows with a person, and someone with this name just sounds like he'd be a swell sorta guy. :) A short name like this would probably sound best next to a longer middle name, like Elijah or Alexander." "I like the name my grandpa and my dad have that name and i think it is unique." Sep. 21, 2006:
"This is a great name; if I have a boy he'll be Otis. It's unusual but not weird, and you can imagine it being cute on a baby and a boy and strong for a grown man. It's one of those classic old names like Jack that no one's picked up on!" Jun. 23, 2006:
