  • "My husband's name. Very common but typical of someone over 40. You wouldn't dare name your baby Ole in the 2010s! I have to admit that it's not a name I rated before I met my husband. Old fashioned names are super trendy here but "dated" names that weren't trendy in the past decade but before 100 years ago aren't. Two generations usually have to pass before a name becomes trendy in Denmark again. I hate the baby name suggestions that come up on various American baby name sites for Danish baby names because they either haven't been used in over 100 years and aren't seeing a resurgence or they're typical for people between 30-70 y.o. though no one in Denmark would dream of naming their baby any of those names today. Just something people of Danish/other Nordic/Scandinavian ancestry might want to consider before choosing a Danish/other Scandinavian/Nordic name." Dec. 14, 2010: Report as inappropriate
