"Charles Lindbergh's paternal grandfather was born in Sweden in 1808 as Ola Maansson but emigrated to the United States in the late 19th century and changed his name to August Lindbergh, becoming a U.S. citizen in 1870 and dying in 1893. Grandfather Lindbergh was married twice, his second wife being his grandson's grandmother Louisa Carline (Lovisa Callen in Swedish). A son of theirs, Charles August Lindbergh (originally Karl August Olsson - Swedish children often took their dad's name with the suffixes '-son' for a boy and '-dotter' for a girl), their then-future aviator grandson's father, was born in 1858 and died in 1924 (he was himself married twice and his second wife bore his son, the aviator Charles Augustus Lindbergh, in 1902)."
