"I really like the name "Nils". It's fabulous and amazing.
I have a little story about this name.
So just under five years ago I spent 3 weeks as a homeless nineteen year old girl in a capital city. It was the summer, so most of my university friends were home for the holidays or away somewhere. This meant I had limited options in terms of places to crash, and when I?d exhausted those, I was pretty desperate.
I called my friend who lived a few hours away and asked her if she knew anyone who?d be so kind enough as to let me stay a few nights, and she did. One catch, she said. She lives in the local brothel and you?ll have to sleep in her room on the second bed. Anything would be better than sleeping on the streets or cashing out for a hostel room, so I said sure.
I turn up. She introduces herself as Star. She has blue hair, one eye, and is about 6 feet tall. Lovely and very kind for accepting me into her place without knowing me, but it was bizarre from the get go.
We get to her room and something smells a little... weird. Like the inside of an old fridge. The place is a tip but I don?t really care, who am I to judge. She soon tells me she?ll be out of the place for 24 hours to go see her boyfriend, fine with me. I can?t help but keep thinking about the smell, so I look around the room to find the culprit, and it dawns on me.
There are about 30-40 almost empty jars of mayonaise all over her room with spoons sticking out of them. The more I look, the more suddenly seem to appear. They are EVERYWHERE. One half-full one is sitting under her bed, and unopened ones are lined up next to the fridge.
Why do you have so much mayonnaise in your room, Star? I?m laughing nervously. She then takes the open jar from under her bed. Oh, I just love mayonnaise, it?s just about all I eat, she says, and proceeds to spoon it into her mouth, spoonful by spoonful until the half jar was gone. I literally could only stare in amazement. She left soon after and all I can remember doing the following 24 hours is lying there staring at the jars. Sleeping. Waking up to all those jars. Mayonnaise everywhere.
It?s been 5 years and every time I?m at the grocery story and see a mayonnaise jar I?m transported to that brothel flat. Thank you for reading because I needed to tell this story." Apr. 2, 2020:
"I have a good friend called Nils and an Uncle called Nils, and they are both very down to earth, gentle and comforting personalities. Nils one is extremely thorough in what he does, and nils two is extremely artistic, but very determined in what he wants to say with his art. they have goals and ambitions and are attractive/supportive people."
