"I am a guy Michelle Claire and I love my name. My parents always pronounce it MEE-Shelle, but they speak native French. I was born in the US and most people just call me Michelle without the French accent. I am often Shell or Shelly. It may be a little too feminine for the US, but people really don't have a problem with it, and girls really love it!" Mar. 31, 2017:
"My middle name is Michelle. I dont understand how there are so many comments about people not pronouncing it correctly. That's so strange." Mar. 21, 2017:
"Apparently people didnt understand that this was the males page for boys named Michelle,,,theres a page for the ladies too." Nov. 24, 2010:
"Well... I love this name. Of course people mispronounce it and misspell it, but it doesn't take the glow of this beautiful name!!! Yes, I meet many people with the same name and the right way to spell it in my country is mee-shelly" May. 30, 2007:
"I love the name Michelle. It is very pretty and I have never been in a class with another person named Michelle at school. The name Michelle ROCKS!" Sep. 25, 2006:
"I have many friends with names even prettier and better than mine, but still, I love my name. It's unique, and, since I'm part french, it's kind of cool. Everyone I know can spell it right. (with a little clue)" Aug. 14, 2006:
"After a long search for a name for our daughter we found Michelle as a sudden perfect solution. We're a bilingual family and this name was acceptable in both languages (Dutch and Czech), although Michelle is not common in the Czech Republic. Czechs use Michaela, in short Misa (pronounce Misha). O course for us it's the most beautiful name, but we're not objectiv anymore!" Jul. 7, 2006:
"it is a great name..... and has only gotten better since the beatles song: Michelle." Apr. 24, 2006:
"People spell my name Michele or Micheale and it bugs me. :( I rate my name thumbs up although I don't think I am at all like God." Mar. 10, 2006:
"No one has had any trouble pronouncing it, but just in case you're from a different country, it's MI-SHELL, that's how you say it. Isn't it pretty? When I was younger my family called my Shell or Shelly.
I like my name very much. I am 17, and I live in the U.S. My parents named me that just because they liked the sound of it, but apparently it's the feminine Hebrew equivalent of "Michael," 'One who is like God.' So now I like my name even more. Also, I haven't had any trouble with my name; I've had other Michelles in my gradeschool classes a few times, so it's not a rare name, but it's not annoyingly common, either. Good combination, yeah? Also, the only hesitancy anyone has had in spelling my name is on whether to spell it "Michele" with one L, or with two. That's not too bad; I mean, most names have at least one spelling variant, so that's not a problem. Also, that is odd that the graph above shows that Michelle was a boy's name. First, because it is clearly a girl's name, it just sounds feminine, doesn't it? Also, I've never known a male Michelle. And, it's supposed to be the feminine version of Michael, at least according to another website. So, don't worry about it being a boy's name.
In short, it's a good name." Feb. 9, 2006:

"My experience with this name is I have had three daughter-in-laws with this first name. All turned out to be quite a piece of work, and bad judgement on my sons' parts. All three took the sons for all they could get when they were married to them, and when they divorced them. What a name. I hope no one in this family EVER marries a Michelle again." Jul. 26, 2007:
"Hi my name is michelle and yes i have people pronounce it wrong it is always said as mitchelle but no i am not a guy and i have a friend who is named michelle as well and her last name starts with w and so does mine she is also in all my school classes so it gets confusing when the teachers ask for michelle or calls the roll because i am so used to being at the end of the roll so i automatically answer here when it is really the other michelle she comes first but i think my name does not suite me my mum wanted to name me shakira but i ended with michelle well that was my life story so hope you enjoyed it buy all" May. 22, 2006:

"It's too popular for me. There is at least one Michelle for every grade in my school. In my own grade, there is two. I think the name is sweet and nice, but it's very common. Some people pronounce my name as Michael sometimes...annoying indeed. It is pronounced "Me-shell", OK? Certainly not "My-kerl." -_-'And not to be confused with Mitchell "Mitt-cheer-el"" Jan. 22, 2006:
