"I named my daughter Harlan in April 2019. The night before we found out her gender I choose this name. We wanted a name that was race, gender neutral. This is why I didn't spell it with a more traditional feminine spelling. Everyone loves the name and she's beautiful." Feb. 4, 2020:
"When we found out we were having a boy, I wasn't sure what to name him bc I thought he was going to be a girl.
We picked the name Harley for our girl, and I eventually wanted to stick with that name, but I wanted something more masculine.
I would in the Health field and one of my residents wife told me her dad's name was Harlan.
I instantly fell in love with this older unique name.
I love it because not many people have it, and I love "older" names.
He can also keep hos nickname Harley, which we also love!!" Aug. 18, 2018:

"A cool name. There's a town in the Appalachians with this name, and a country song about "goin' back to Harlan." It has a nostalgic, 1920s feel. Unusual but not strange. A strong, manly, rootsy name." Jan. 8, 2007:
