  • "My name is Eliot. My son is Eliot Jr. No one in either my family or his mother's family approved of it. They all wanted him to be named after a dead relative. It was the only time that I got my own way about anything with regard to my son. They all called him by his middle name, William (Willie) which was his great-grandfather's name. When he got to college he started using Eliot instead. If I had a girl I would have named her Elyette, although now I hear of girls named Eliot as well. People insist on spelling my name with two L's or two T's or both. I have several Facebook friends named Eliot who also have the same last name as my son and me."
