"We named our son Drew because it was easy to spell and when he learned cursive it would be easy to write. Of course, now they don't teach cursive...but it did make life easy when he was learning.
Plus, I had a teacher in high school who said name your kids what you want them called. Don't name him Charles and call him Charlie. Name the kid Charlie." Apr. 20, 2020:
"Drew is a great boy name. Hard to make up rude nicknames, everyone can pronounce and from its Greek derivative means "manly"." Mar. 16, 2014:
"My dad was going to call me Andrew, but instead called me Drew. I prefer Drew over Andrew, so I am glad to be called Drew." Dec. 30, 2009:
"We named our little boy Drew. It is the perfect name for him and it isn't very common. There are lots of Aidens and Caydens in his daycare, but no one named Drew. Also, it's just Drew, not Andrew. To me, Drew can stand on its own and doesn't have to only be a nickname for Andrew anymore. It is manly and cool, but not so uncommon that it is weird." Jul. 15, 2009:
"I like the name Drew. It's not too common of a name. I only see a few other people named Drew." Jul. 27, 2007:
