"I am naming my baby Damon because I had a dream that I named my baby Damon. I loved it in my dream, and I love it now. My parents don't like the name because it sounds like damien, but they will get used to it. We also have sons named Joshua, Anthony, and Logan." Jun. 9, 2012:
"I'am Damon born in 1979. Its just fitsme. My mother wanted to name me Richard, But I can't see being called Richard or any other name. My dad insisted on this name. I have asked him numerous amount of times why he named me that, but he says he doesn't know why.he can't remember lol. most people pronounces it "Damian "even after I correct them and sometimes people tell other people "no" his name is "Damon" not Damian and get upset lol. But iI dont mind it. They callwouldn't me theto omen wich kinda makescool it darkto and spooky. Well iI lovedont dark ansd spooky. So itI fits i guess. When I was a kid my gramps new the family of a baseball player named " Damon Berryhill" and he got me an autograph baseball card from him threw the family. I was so excited just to know someone else had the same name as me. I really thought I was the only one out their with this name. It really is an unusual name. Now that I'm older I hear of a few named Damon like Damon Wayne's, Damon from that Vampire show, Damon Bradshaw. So ya, its kinda cool. A million people are named Mike, or Bob or Tom but Damon. Nope ! I feel privileged to have an unusual and cool name like Damon." Jun. 5, 2012:
"My name is Damon. I love my name as well. It's a powerful name and spells Nomad backwards. Lol... However, I have to agree with some people here I get the occasional ignorant people who call me Damien, it's definitely annoying, but a learning lesson for them... Name your boy Damon and none of you will be sorry." Feb. 23, 2011:
"My son's name is Damon, and I agree with the others who say it is a strong, dark name. Kinda mysterious, kinda artistic. My boy suits the name perfectly!
It's my favourite boy's name ever. I'm going to have a hard time following it up if we have another boy.
He does get called 'Damien' occasionally though. People also sometimes mis-pronounce it 'DayMON' whereas it should be pronounced almost as if the 'o' isn't there." Aug. 25, 2010:
"My name is Damon....and I'm a girl....who knows any girls named Damon? I've never met one!" Jul. 24, 2009:
"I have a friend named Damon, and his name completely fits his personality. He is strong, kinda mysterious, and a great friend. Did i mention that he's really strong physically and in his heart." Apr. 9, 2009:
"This name is so uncommon where I live, it rocks! I think it's a dark, mysterious kind of name." Jan. 22, 2009:
"I just love this name. It is not common and it has a good strong sound. Our son is named Damon and we are all really happy with it." Nov. 11, 2008:
"i like my name but i get called damion so often its really annoying" Sep. 6, 2008:
"I personally really, like the name, but alot of people say that it's to close to "damien" and i'm kind of offended by that. i know it sounds similar, but it is a really strong and dark name. i don't have any kids, but if i have a son im naming him that. anyone else feel the same way?" Aug. 9, 2008:
"We named our son Damon and are really pleased with it. He is not just one of the many boys with the same name around here. It is a good strong name and has a freshness about it. Some people do mishear it as Damien - that's the only negative I can think of." Aug. 5, 2008:
"I admire the name deeply. I'm a writer, and the name Damon for a character in a story that I'm writing fits his character well. Personally I love the name, it's such an uncommon name, and it has a nice ring to it.Damon is a name of strong character and personality- so anyone that can't see this simply doesn't see the beauty in that name.Anybody out there that's named Damon: you should be proud because there aren't that many people who have that name, and it is truly unique. So please do not be ashamed of your name, because it is perfect for you no matter what anyone else says.I have never in my life met someone whose name is Damon, although I wish to :)." Jun. 27, 2008:
"We named our third son Daimon and I love the name. My mother still doesn't like it since it reminds her of a demon or Damian. It's a good think the parents get to decide on the name!" Feb. 16, 2008:
"I am just about to name my son "Damon James". Everyone around me is so negative about the name Damian/Damien and surprisingly always mentions the movie "The Omen".
So .. Damon it is ..." Jan. 21, 2008:
"My son due in Feb 2008 will be called Damon James. He has siblings: Helen and Jason and it fits well with the last name... and the Greek theme." Sep. 29, 2007:
"Love this name! People do sometimes say Damien though, which is annoying." Sep. 11, 2007:
"We named our son Damon because it is a strong name that is not too popular and it works well for both a child and an adult. Also, you can't make a nickname out of it and it is easy to spell and pronounce. However, many people make the mistake of calling him "Damien". When we told family what we were planning on naming him we got some comments like "that's an evil name" or "isn't that the kid from 'The Omen ?'" (that was Damien). But all in all, we are happy that we chose it.I should mention that my husband wanted to name him after his favorite pro motocross racer, Damon Bradshaw. We also like that it is a name that crosses racial lines. There are both black and white Damons and we like the fact that you can't tell by his name what decade he was born in like the Ashleys, Brittanys,Hunters, and Tanners of the world. He also never has to be one of many Damons since it is not very common." Jul. 13, 2006:

"My name is Damon. The biggest error is people saying it wrong, then there is some misspelling as well. I don't really see how it can be mis read, but it should be said, as if it were being said, 'Day 'Mon"" Sep. 2, 2005:

"My name is Damon Lee Carman. I was born in 1956 in Omaha, Nebr. As a child I didn't like my name so much because everyone had such a hard time pronouncing it. And some of the other kids would use it as a way to make fun of me. But in all my years in school there was never another Damon in the whole school. My father once told me I was named after a writer, named Damon Runyon. But a couple of years ago my Aunt Marlene, my mother's sister, said my mom had an employer named Damon. My mother had died in 2012 so I was never able to ask her about it. But now as an old man, I am very proud of my name. There are still people that mispronounce it. I just correct them by saying; "It's like Monday only Damon. And with a surname of Carman, I am twice as proud." Apr. 26, 2019:
"I named my son Damon I love it & so does he. Sometimes people mistake it for Damian but not too much. He is very strong & compassionate it fits him perfect." Mar. 23, 2011:
"I had some people or alot of people actually say my name wrong, what people call sounds like Daymon,Damion,or Damyion" Jul. 17, 2010:
"*sigh* I really like the name Damon. If I ever have a son, that's what I would name him. When he gets a job as a ninja, none of his ninja friends will be able to make fun of him. Like "just-in time" or "hey, austin, texas!"" Jan. 23, 2010:
"We're thinking of naming our son Damon, too. And like I've read, people always say "Damien, the kid from The Omen?" I say "No, our kid will be tougher than that." Sounds to me like the guys named Damon like their name...and there aren't any Damons at my daughter's daycare, just the same few overused names we want to avoid." Jun. 10, 2009:
"My Name is Damon. and you are so right. The world must be stupid because I get called everything except Damon.33 years of this and it gets old. Damon comes from daemon ( means spirit). Then there is Damion and all the other spellings and variations of the same Name.Thats how they got to the movie. The evil was the spirit. The name damon has a lot of meanings, friend , one who tames/kills, ect. I do have to say, I love my name.I have had a lot of fun and meet a lot of people just because of it." Dec. 4, 2008:
"My son's name is Damon. It's a very nice, strong name and not as many people call him "Damien" any more. When a young Damon reaches the goofy stage of development (8-10), he'll remind you many time a day that his name is actually Nomad spelled backwards, and get a kick out of it each time. When he reaches the young adolescent stage, he'll begin to refer to himself only as Damon (omitting the last name), knowing that he's probably the only one in the class or in the school for that matter. This is where we are now. It's really a cool name." Jul. 9, 2008:
