"My name is Alijah. I'm a girl. Everybody pronounce it wrong. Like Elijah or Alia. But I like it. My nickname is Ali some people call me both." Jul. 27, 2015:
"My sons name is Alijah Jordan. He was born in 2003. He is usually getting it mispronounced as Aaliyah. I wish some would understand that is a proper spelling of the form Elijah. It is pronounced uh-lie-zha. I don't know of any other person with this spelling of the name Alijah." Sep. 22, 2013:
"My name is Alijah and I AM A GIRL!! most people spell it Elijah or pronnounce it Aliyah or think that I am a boy. I like my name but i wish people would stop assuming i'm a boy or spelling it Elijah." Nov. 25, 2009:
"I love the name Alijah i have a 1yr old daughter named Alani, recently my cousin Sean Elijah Bell was tragically killed and i wanted to let his name live on, also my great grandmother name was Eliza. So since my name is Ayisha and my Fiancee is Adrian Alijah is perfect for a boy later on along the line. God willing..." Mar. 28, 2008:

"I named my daughter Alijah born May 08-2001
people always call her Elijah or Aaliyah... We are always correcting people and that is ok. I love her name and she does too. We call her Ali for short or Lee, sometimes even Leej.
People always assume it is a boy's name when they refer to her. That does get a little annoying but once again, its quite all right. I had my own struggles with my name (Anya-anwu) so she has learned to be ok with helping people through her pronounciation... I have posted a picture of both of us so that u can see how much we suit our names :)" Sep. 3, 2008:
"I think the pronouncation would be like Elijah, not a-lee-a" Mar. 14, 2008:
"My name is Alijah except I don't spell it like that I spell it like Alia. I hate this name being spelled like Alijah its too long. The main downside to this name however is that no one can ever pronouce it or spell it I've gotten so many weird spellings like Aliah , Aliyah, and of course Alijah. Oh and by the way I am a girl with this name and I've never heard it being used for a boy not that its a very common name in the states." May. 16, 2007:
