It didn't take long for me to grow to love my name and appreciate its beauty and uniqueness. It's a solid, strong, yet feminine name with significant meaning from the Bible. I get compliments on my name everywhere I go. My family calls me Essie, Es, and Hadassah for some of my many nicknames. It gets misspelled as Ester which makes me bonkers, and some people pronounce it improperly as EsTHer, but I wouldn't trade my name for anything else. Whenever most Koreans Christians come to America and have kids, they pick a biblical name.
