I thought it would not be the 'Tracy" experience to have people spell their name other ways since Tracy is the standard spelling and mine is an "alternate". i didn't know this happened to Tracys as well with other people spelling it wrong. People often wonder the nationality of "Trace" and are surprised when they learn my offical name is Tracy. I live in Germany where gender neutral names are illegal, so most Germans are quite surprised I have a girl's name. I tell them 20% of Tracys are guys, which they can't fathom. It always sounds old fashioned and dated to me. While most girls around me have names like Jessica, Jennifer, Taylor, Michelle, etc, I've always felt my name sounded out of place. Tracy is the only way it should be spelled. I LOVE my name! It's very pretty, and I'm really happy that it means "fighter" because that's who I am, a fighter! It's great that I'm the only Tracy in my grade, because it makes me feel unique and special. Though, there is a Stacey in my school, and we're good friends.
