"My name is Sofia and I'm Swedish. I love my name, it's one of more popular names in Sweden. Sofia is really melodic, sophisticated, elegant, beautiful name. Generally i gojust by Sofia, but my Mum calls me Vivi and is cute and childish. My husband sometimes calls me Fia, Fi, Fifi, or Toffifee :D or Sophie Toffi. I have friend from Ukraine, and she calls me Sofijka (saw-FEEY-kah) and it is wonderful. I think it's the best name ever, so I gave this name to my daughter and call her Vivi. My Mum call her Lilla Sofia (lilla means little in Swedish). If you want to make your daughter happy and appreciating her name, call her Sofia. Sofia is universal name, which fits little child, young girl, middle-aged woman and old lady. It sounds so smooth and delicate, but has strenght also." Aug. 1, 2015:
"My name is Sofia and I was named after my Greek grandmother. Spelling this name with an "f" is common to Greeks, the "ph" spelling is considered Italian, although I believe the name is used throughout the Mediterranean region. I love being of Greek heritage and this name does not belong to ones who are not of an Italian, Greek, or Spanish descent. It is a cultural name and should stay that way but unfortunately it is a popular name for children in the US today. Growing up there were never any other Sofia's in my classes. Today, I see tons of little girls with this name so the originality and culture has been lost." Apr. 4, 2014:
"My name is Sofia and I was born over 35 years ago when is was not popular. I was named after my great grandmother who was born in the late 1800's. I have always loved my name, and was the only one that I knew for a very long time. There are too many Sofia's now. People find another name to give to your daughters - don't copy everyone else!" Dec. 6, 2013:
"my name is sofia and i love it! one thing i dislike is when most people spell my name they spell it with a PH instead of a F but other then that i love it! i prefer my family members to call me sofie because it makes me feel special. even though the name is of greek orgin and means wisdom i am from afghanistan and live in new york. where i live, the name is not very popular, which is good because people wont confuse you then and there wont be any sofia"s in your class.

"Hello,my name is Sophia, and I absolutely love the name. Thought it may lose it's uniqueness after it has become so popular, I still think the
name really is a unique and beautiful name, it almost makes the person who owns it seem more beautiful herself. I never used to like the name, but then I found out that Sophia represents "Wisdom", which shows the personality
of the one who bears it. This name to me is a true honor to bear, with it's unique style, although it is rather popular these days." Sep. 18, 2007:

"I was named Sophia in 1980. I never liked my name because it was "weird" and difficult to find personalized items. I went to a birthday party once, and the mom made goody bags for all the guests. Included in the goody bags were personalized memo books, but I got a generic rainbow one since there wasn't a memo book with the name "Sophia" on it. As I grew older and started dating, I was often told my name was sexy and seductive, and I changed my opinion. I love my name now, and I wouldn't trade it for the world!" Oct. 5, 2005:

"I know Sophia's who are absolute amazing people and Sophia's who are mean. The name is fine but I think it doesn't really deserve all the attention. I would never name my child Sophia because it's so popular for no reason" Jul. 19, 2019:
"Honestly, Sophia, Sofia, Sophya, whatever you spell it, it's so overused. It's a pretty name, but I wouldn't use it to name my child. I would use a more uncommon name. Sophia or whatever you spell it, is a good name but I wouldn't use it." Nov. 23, 2016:

"I have a 3 month old baby girl. Me and my husband had the hardest time deciding on a name. I came across sofia, but looked for different spelling options. Sophia seemed to be the right fit for our princess. Up until we had finally chose her name we realized how popular it has become. After naming her sophia I felt all the baby girls I met were named sophia. Although it's become too common of a name I still love it. It's sophisticated and beautiful. Every child is unique even if they Share the same name. Sophia has become the new (Maria). I don't understand how it got to be so popular but its beautiful." Jun. 9, 2014:
