  • "Boys name all the way! Perfect for a boy horrible on a girl yuck" Sep. 2, 2018: Report as inappropriate

  • "My son called his first born son Peyton after Peyton Manning. My son is a sports nut but as we live in Australia, most people haven't heard of Peyton Manning here! I tried to talk him out of it as I am a teacher and most Peyton's are girls. In a class at my school there are 2 children with that name , one is a boy and one is a girl and they are known as Peyton boy or Paiton girl. I cringe at that, those poor children! After researching the name, it is in fact a boy's name and it means 'masculine'. I would never call a girl that knowing it's meaning. By the way, I have got used to my Grandson being named Peyton and couldn't see him with any other name. It suits him!" Oct. 19, 2017: Report as inappropriate

The week that I had my ultrasound with her and found out we were having a girl we named her right away...and gave her the nick name Pey Pey. Peyton fits her perfectly. I personally dont know any one else with that as a first name. I do know one family with Peyton as a last name.I love it and my daughter does also." Feb. 25, 2010: Report as inappropriate

  • "Where I am from this is solely a boys name! I see it quite often too and people are very into sports. I see all ages with the name from Little boys to grown men and I think it's a nice strong name that ages well. People would cringe to see a girl with this name I am considering it for a in son the future." May. 28, 2019: Report as inappropriate

  • "Horrible for a girl! Belongs on a boy all the way. Cringeworthy to think of a girl holding this nice strong male name with male meaning and masculine gender. No boy names are safe anymore and it's just sad - please give your daughter something feminine it will be a tough road ahead if she is masculine" May. 22, 2019: Report as inappropriate

  • "I absolutely hate this name! Sounds like you're calling your child "Painting"lol. It should be left for the boys." Apr. 9, 2019: Report as inappropriate

  • "This is a boys name! Always has been and always will be. Too many famous men with this name and the girls get told they have a boys name. Live it for a boy but horrible on a girl." Oct. 27, 2018: Report as inappropriate

  • "I only like this name for a boy could not imagine it for a girl. It is 3 of my friends sons name and I plan to name my son that one day!!" Sep. 3, 2018: Report as inappropriate

  • "I'm sorry but I'm from the south..east Texas & I can't stand to hear someone say Peyton! It's like nails on a chalkboard!! Our draw is so bad! I just cringe when I hear it! :/" Oct. 30, 2010: Report as inappropriate

  • "My brother just named his daughter Peyton. It's a pretty name but very common right now. I think they are sort of regretting it because it is so popular. This name is going to go the way of the Tyler and Taylor bunch of ten years ago. My poor little niece is going to be in class and the teacher will ask Peyton to answer the question and seven boys and girls all with the name of Peyton will not know which one of them she wants to answer. Or they'll all be known as first name, last initial. Peyton B., Peyton S., Peyton K." Jun. 19, 2009: Report as inappropriate

  • "Terrible name for a girl but not bad on a boy. I just think it sounds kind of ugly on a offense. It is so popular and that really makes me not care for it even more." Jan. 2, 2009: Report as inappropriate

  • "I just don't like the name. Then again, I don't like, with the exception of a few, girl's having tradition boy's names and vise versa." Oct. 10, 2007: Report as inappropriate

  • "I just think of Walter Payton. Or else I think it sounds masculine." Sep. 5, 2006: Report as inappropriate

  • "Seems like lots of little girls here in Orlando, FL are being named Peyton/Payton. It is getting annoying!" Apr. 2, 2006: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Peyton (girl) and I love my name since it's not super common here. The spelling is often difficult to get right. I know a little girl named Payton (nickname 'Peaches') and I think it suits her - she's adorable and is pursuing a career in acting. She's doing quite well so far. I like how it's sort of androgynous and how nobody else in my school shares my name - however, one other girl on my rugby team is named Peyton. Same spelling and everything! It's a nice name, and I wish it would continue to be an uncommon name. It's a nice name, especially on girls because it's less... concrete, i guess? Peytons can be either-or without expectations, unlike Melissas or Angelas. We aren't expected to be a certain way, which is nice." Nov. 24, 2018: Report as inappropriate

  • "My 6 year old daughter is named Peyton Noelle. It suits her so well, and I had only heard of it once years before when I was a young kid. I loved it then, and did not realize how popular it would become. I'm pretty bummed that it's not very unique anymore..." May. 16, 2016: Report as inappropriate

  • "Yeah my name is Peyton I am a 14 year old boy in a very judgmental school. As you can see, many people either strongly like or dislike my name. Most dislike because they say it is a girl's name. Well I have done some research on it. It seems that Peyton used to be a boy's name, but over time it gained popularity as a girl's name. Can someone please assure me that boys can also have this name?" Jul. 26, 2013: Report as inappropriate

  • "My daughter Peyton Reese was born in 2004, was quite orginal at the very popular :(" Nov. 24, 2012: Report as inappropriate

  • "my five year old niece is named Peyton Brooke..... she is a "girly girl"........ I don't like how it looks spelled with an "a" instead of an "e"" Apr. 28, 2011: Report as inappropriate

  • "Every time I hear this name, I think of Peyton Manning. It's an ok name, not one of my favorites." Jan. 29, 2011: Report as inappropriate

  • "Peyton is a terrible name for girls. All the famous Peytons are men and it rhymes with Satan, who is also a boy. Major fail if a girl is named Peyton/Payton/Paiten/Patan." Dec. 5, 2010: Report as inappropriate

  • "Our 7 year old daughter is Peyton Emily. She is the only Peyton in her school although I have heard it is starting to become more popular. It is a beautiful, strong name for a girl." Jun. 25, 2009: Report as inappropriate

  • "Okay, i love this name. I have been planning on naming my first baby girl this. Its such a beautiful name. I love it and I cant wait until i have a baby girl (long time though since im 13) but I still cant wait!" May. 23, 2008: Report as inappropriate
