  • "I was born in 1980 and got my name (Pansy! Of course), because I was born on my great great aunts birthday so I got her name. She is passed but I have a great aunt with same name. So 3 of us in total. I hated my name when I was young but I grew to love it. Definitely a conversation starter. Women normally respond with kind words like how cute or beat it is, whereas guys always tease me or ask for proof lol. I like having an unusual name that isn't like totally weird." • "In middle school and high school, I was teased a lot. I was embarrassed by my name. My husband seldom uses my name. He calls me "Honey" or some other term of endearment. He knows how much I dislike it. Over the years, I have began to like it a little more, but it has taken me 65 years!! If I am being introduced, people always ask if that is my 'given' name. Who would say that is their name if it wasn't. I think I would be a different person today if I had been given another name!" Jan. 11, 2019: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Pansy I'm 64 years old never met another Pansy when in the Air Force I got teased a lot but as I grew old most either called me Patsy or really liked my name. I always said you will probably never meet another so you won't forget me" Nov. 23, 2016: Report as inappropriate

  • "I hate my name! People use it as an insult and to cut other people down. I think the movie industry should be sued for using the name Pansy as an insult. No other name is used in that manner. Anyone else who uses someones name as an insult should should have to feel the pain of growing up under that as an influence. It can cause them psycological problems in the long run or ruin the self-esteem. To have the name Pansy for me has been traumatic. I finally changed to using my middle name. But to this day if someone calls me Pansy, inside I feel anger and shame. All because of how the public views the name Pansy as an insult. Such use is wrong. And yes I am venting!!!" • "In my neck of the woods, "Pansy" means a sissy or effeminate male." Aug. 10, 2006: Report as inappropriate

  • "i onli met one person with the same name as me... sometimes they spell wrongly is Pansy not Pancy.." Apr. 14, 2006: Report as inappropriate
