I woke up and thought if I ever have a daughter that will be her name. Ever since then I've been looking more into the name and I cant believe how popular it is :)

"We just named our daughter Olive Marie (my middle name). My BF liked Olivia and won the name pick coin toss, but after working in a daycare, it was too common for me. I imagined being at the park and calling my daughter to have 10 other little girls come running, so we went with Olive instead. Our choice was met with lots of criticism by family, but strangers love it and family has warmed up to it." Jul. 27, 2015:
"were planning to try for another baby soon, and were hoping for another girl. I like different names, my other children dont have very common names. My husband mentioned Olive and i love it. So we have a girls name chosen already.

"I named my daughter Olive Jemma, and Olive J has seem to stick! People often assume her "real" name is Olivia and are shocked by Olive. My husband was also very weary of the name, but around 7mo pregnant I just strictly referred to her as "baby Olive". She is now almost 2 and Olive suits her perfectly! As far as popularity is concerned people may see it more frequently but 75% of the time when you meet people they still throw out the "that's unique" "beautiful, it's different"!" Jul. 30, 2011:
"My daughter's name is Olive (Olive Louise). She was born in September 2008. I loved the name for years before I got pregnant. Then, once she was born, all these other Olives started coming out of the woodwork, mostly older women.
Now I see lots of people are naming babies Olive lately! I too hope it doesn't get too popular.
Some people thought it was a "fake created name" like Apple. They are obviously ignorant, as Olive was very popular way back." Jul. 26, 2011:

"We named our first Daughter 'Olive Elizabeth'! She just turned 6 months and myself and everyone else I know could not imagine her with any other name! "I love this name! My husband and I had 2 girls names picked a year before we were even pregnant, Olive and Willow! My daughter is now 12weeks but we went with Willow because I thought that Olive was becoming really popular but now that we have Willow, that name is becoming really popular too. I love both names! If we have another girl her name will be Olive" Mar. 24, 2011:
"I had suggested the name Olive to my boyfriend when I was around 20 weeks pregnant with our daughter. He said heck no! Well at only 26 weeks they had to take her emergency c-section. His mother asked if there were any names that I absolutely loved and in my drugged up and crying in hysterics moment I said Olive. She said well that should be her name then. My boyfriend said he was ok with it and now he couldn't imagine her with any other name. I had no idea it was becoming so popular again though. The only Olive that I know of is an elderly woman that goes to my church. Olive Elizabeth 10/08/10" Feb. 21, 2011:
"Im not pregnant...but the other day me and my husband were talking about baby names (boy and girl). I had mentioned Olivia and oliver. He didn't like Oliver but mentioned Olive. I had never thought of that name before. I was so surprised that he like that name because he doesn't usually like different names. Ever since he thought of it I've loved it. I love that it's so different. I will have to keep it on my list for when the time comes. I have always wanted to name my kids names that aren't very popular or common so I hope it doesn't become too popular." Feb. 17, 2011:

"I named my baby girl Olive. We liked the name Olivia but it's just too dang popular. I didn't know about any other Olive's for a while. We found out a month before I gave birth that an old friend had named her daughter Olive. We had a couple girl names picked out and a boy name too, but when she was born (she was a surprise gender) we just started calling her Olive immediately. Now I've heard of 5 more baby Olives here in the Twin Cities... guess it's not as unique as I thought!" Oct. 4, 2010:
"I love the name Olive it seems so unique. sometimes I wish my name was Olive." Sep. 6, 2010:

"Yeah, my name is Olive. I was named by one of my beloved sis. I like my name veru much as Olive itself represents peace. Huh ~ till date, I think I never happen to hear people around me pronounce my name correctly. Yes, it might be we are asian and stress & syllable is somehow ignored in this environment, not their fault it is! Anyway,I'm happy & proud to be "Olive". It's indeed a precious name to me ~" Aug. 16, 2010:
"Olive is the most beautiful name and it just rolls off your tongue beautifully too. My granddaughter has been given this precious name - she was born March 12, 2009 and they had to reshape her head because she had such a hard time coming out of the birth canal - she looked just like a little olive at first LOL...but she was named long before she entered the world...we love her so much!" "We're naming our baby girl Olive Elizabeth! My side of the family is constantly groaning over 'how could you name her that'? blahblahblah. me and my husband love the name and that's all that matters." Jul. 8, 2010:
"THANKS for posting such positive comments about the name "Olive" ... It's healing for me to read how you chose this name so thoughtfully and lovingly for your babies. I'm in my 60's, was named after an Aunt, whom I loved dearly. I have known a number of wonderful "Olives" much older than I am as the name seems to have been more popular around 1900 and in Great Britain. Unfortunately I was teased unmercifully for having this name all through my school years because of the Popeye cartoon. I was tall and skinny and people would make that association to Olive Oyl even many adults I met. It's only just recently I've been okay with my name. I always really liked it BUT other people's unkindess caused such painful memories. So thanks again for all the lovely post!" Apr. 22, 2010:

Named after my extended grandmother, her name suits her to a tee... she's graciously delicate like her grandmother, with a smile that melts hearts and beautiful olive skin courtesy of her mixed cultural background... couldn't have picked a better name for my girl! (also, it was the first name that both my husband 'n I agreed on!) I love that it's such a cool old skool name!" Dec. 14, 2009:

"I'm 28 weeks pregnant and we're pretty sure she's an Olive! It's no much sweeter than the overly used Olivia. We love it! My Dad laughed and said she'd be Olive Oyl (Popeye) but what child of our children's generation even knows who she is??" Aug. 4, 2009:
"We have a beautiful Olive born in 2003... it seems it is getting a little more popular now(perhaps due to a well celebrity naming her daughter Olive??????). She is the only Olive in the whole of her school (she is pretty impressed with that :-))..." Aug. 2, 2009:
"I love this name. My husband and I are expecting in November 09 and have always known we would have a little Olive! I am glad it isn't very popular. A lot of older women I talk to hate it...they think of Olive Oil from Popeye. I figure the kid's in Olive's generation won't even know who Popeye or Olive Oil are, so we are safe." Jul. 29, 2009:

"Love it! Husband and I couldn't agree on a girl name and all of the family names are too popular right now, Emma, Grace, Elizabeth, etc. We attended my husbands grandmothers funeral recently and I saw that her middle name was Olive....before I could say anything my husband pointed to it at the service and we both smiled...we knew then that she would be Olive Virginia after our grandmothers." Jul. 5, 2009:
"I LOVE Olive. I named my daughter born early in July 08, Olive. It was actually the only name that my husband and I could agree on. We thought of other names and poured over lists of baby names. But We'd think of a back up name and the next day, we'd forget it. She was meant to be Olive. People definitely either love it or hate it. I had people ask "BUT WHAT would you call her?" Umm... Olive. Her middle name is Papillon so she can go by Poppy if she doesn't like her name later... but she's definitely a little Olive. AND we're teaching her that her belly button is her Pimento!" Jun. 17, 2009:
"we named our daughter olive elizabeth - born on 5/6/09." May. 18, 2009:
"Our little Olive Jean (middle name after her maternal grandfather and paternal grandmother) was born march 15, 2009. As far as we were concerned, if someone didn't like the name, we knew we picked the right one! People aren't used to hearing it here in the good ol' U S of A. It's beautiful, elegant, and fit for a little girl and woman. We like Olivia too, but Olive contains both "love" "live" and "evil". Three things we should all recognize throughout life." May. 12, 2009:
