"I named my daughter Noelle because I thought it sounded so beautiful. It's easy to pronounce and write, but I was surprised at how many people want to spell it "Noel". She is only 2 1/2 now, but so far, i have not come across this name in her daycare. (There are 3 Mia and 2 Miya and 2 Mila... and it is not a big daycare!) I still think Noelle is a beautiful and unique name. I hope she appreciates it when she gets older. If not, her middle name is Abigail." May. 16, 2017:
"Love! My baby girl is due December 4th, and this is one name my husband and I finally agreed on! I've always loved the name anyways, but it happens to work out that she'll be a winter baby :-) ." Aug. 17, 2016:
"Not so much growing up but as an adult, I'm very happy to be "Noelle". But like so many others here, a lot of people call me "Nicole". I can't imagine why but apparently it's a wide-spread thing. I can't believe it's just because they're both French "N" names.
Oh. And I'm sure it's true for you others too. Everyone who does it is sure they're the first to make the mistake. Just like everyone's sure they're the first to think of the "first Noel" connection.
We are sheep!

"I'm a Noelle Katherine. I love the name Noelle - I do get called Nicole a lot though. Most people get it right... It seems like older folks are the ones who make the Nocole mistake, perhaps since they're more familiar with the name?" Jan. 16, 2016:
"My name is Noelle Stephanie - Born December 27. I love it and have always loved my name. Everyone things it's beautiful and unique. However, I have been called Nicole a lot. They even see Noelle on and email and write back "Nicole." I don't know what it is about the name, but would be interesting to hear from a lexicologist! My nicknames from close friends were always Ellie or Elle. My mom calls me Noelley or Noellers!" Apr. 22, 2015:
"I've seen the name Noelle Jhanay, born two days before Christmas. She always gets called Nicole! Usually by older folks but we just figure it's because Noelle isn't a very common name around here. Nell is a nickname she often goes by. Quite a unique girl, so the name suits her well." Mar. 29, 2015:
"My name is Noelle. My middle name is Rose, and I love it. I love it when I go to a Christmas event and hear "my Christmas song". I have a big family so when it goes on, the whole family in turn turns to me with a smile or a wink and I LOVE it. My nickname is "noe" and THAT I hate. It gets worse when my little sister and mom start saying stuff like "No-p, No-q, No-r, No-Z, that's why we call you No-e!!!"" Sep. 8, 2014:
"I want to name my first baby/daughter Noelle. I think its so unique and beautiful. She will be born late November early December & i LOVE christmas time out of the whole year. I just need to find a middle name just as beautiful." Jul. 22, 2014:
"Maybe some parents conceived on Christmas. Just a thought to the narrow-minded comment." Jan. 29, 2013:
"Noelle is a beautiful name....and it works so very well as a middle name as it flows so well. We are considering giving our daughter Noelle as a middle name....she's due in a couple of months....September not December...but I don't think that matters...." Jul. 10, 2012:
"My name is unique. I never thought that my parents would name me like this. At first, I wanted to change it but then, I learned to appreciate it. I have a schoolmate that has the same name, and honestly, I became sad 'cause I thought that I was the only Noelle is school." Jun. 13, 2011:

"my best friend's name is Noelle and everyone keeps calling her Nicole. They don't even sound the same!" Nov. 12, 2008:
"I love my name and I was born on Christmas eve. But I don't understand people naming their children Noelle if they are not born in Dec. The Name literally means "Born on Christmas" so why would you call your child that if they were not? I was named after the Singer from the 50's and 60's, Andy Williams's Daughter who was also born at Christmas." Oct. 5, 2008:
"hey!! I'm thirteen and my name is Noelle and i think that it is the best name ever! It's not too original but at the same time not too plain. I am born in April so I am kind of sick of people asking me if I'm born on Christmas but it really isn't THAT much of a problem. I still think that my name is AWESOME!!" Aug. 8, 2008:
"Noelle is not my first name, but my middle name. Some of my family and friends refer to me as Noelle though. my birthday is in August, and I get sooo sick of people asking me if i was born on Christmas! but it is a pretty name. I like it with my first name...Emily Noelle.....
:)" Apr. 6, 2008:

(No- Ell). I love her name and love that it means christmas.." Jan. 29, 2008:
"My name is Noelle. I love my name but am sure sick of being asked if I was born on Christmas." Jan. 18, 2008:
"I am 22, and my name is Noelle. As a child I didn't particularly like it (although I don't think any child likes their name when young!), but now I absolutely love it! I always get lots of compliments (much more than I get questions or comments about christmas). It is unique, but not strange or obscure, and very beautiful. Plus, it sounds lovely with my last name. I'm glad my mother decided to name me Noelle, even though I was born in April!" Jul. 6, 2007:
"I wanted to name my daughter Noelle but my husband wouldn't let me. So her name is Jayden Noelle. I love that name and so does she!" May. 8, 2007:
"I love this name. I think I might even name MY daughter that!" Apr. 6, 2007:

"I really think you don't have to be a December baby if parents love the name and they want to call their daughter Noelle, I think they have every right to use it. There is no law to prevent you from doing that." Feb. 7, 2015:
"My name is Noelle, too! I was born in 1962... So I'm an older version! It was a challenge as a kid back then, I wanted to be like the other girls. But I love it now! My husband and I bot have unique names and we were both teased, so I gave my kids gender specific names, common, non trendy and easy to spell." Nov. 16, 2014:
"i think a baby should be called Noelle only if they were born on the christmas month anywhere between the 1st to the 31st of December" Jul. 10, 2014:
"My name is Ashley Noelle. I don't like how popular Ashley is so I really wish my first name was Noelle. I think it's beautiful and more unique and I was born on December 18th so it fits." Jun. 22, 2014:
"I was born on Christmas day my mom wanted to name me Noelle but French tradition was that my Godfather named me and he picked Lucile. I named my daughter Noelle to the great joy of my mother and my daughter has a name that is celebrated in the whole world. In french you pronounce the two vowels o and e pronounced no elle. great!" I've always got a lot of compliments from the name, and I've never had anyone forget my name, go figure. You don't exactly hear it a lot. My name Noelle Grace. My daughters name is Hope Faith. And my sons name is Nicholas Luke. I love my name and I always have. :)" Oct. 2, 2010:
"my name is Noelle. I like it. I was due on Christmas, but late. Everyone and their mothers call me Nicole. Only one person called me Naomi on accident, which I found amusing. Oh and everyone thinks they are so original for singing the first noel to me, but I learned to like it. The only thing is, there isn't really a nickname for it, other than noe." Oct. 22, 2009:
"My brother and sister are twins and their names are Nicholas and Noelle and i think that is it so cool that they are both very popular christmas name being St. Nick A.K.A. Santa, and the first Noel. Also it is weird that they were born in April." Jul. 12, 2009:
"I was born on chirstmas, so my parents considered naming me something like noelle, joy, or even gloria. If i had to choose out of those three, i would pick noelle, but i really wouldn't want this for my name" Apr. 5, 2007:
"When I was in pre-school, I told everyone to call me "Melissa". My mother was furious, but I hated my name! 20 years later, I think it is beautiful and am proud to have a unique name -- I just wish everyone would stop singing to me already!!!" Mar. 21, 2007:
