"My name is Michele, it looks so much more attractive than Michelle with double "L". Every time somebody writes my name with two L's especially in a reply to a business email, it shows a lot about this person - that they do not have a an eye for detail and they do not take care. As it annoys me so, I take a lot of care in spelling people's names correctly. My twin brother some times spells my name incorrectly (this says a lot about him)." Mar. 12, 2018:
"One "L" is unique and different which makes it all the more attractive and memorable." Oct. 6, 2012:
"I'm Michele...and every time someone adds an extra L to my name, I add an extra letter to their name. Always works!" Jun. 22, 2012:
"Michele is my middle name. I have always loved it because of the unique spelling. When I was little I wanted people to call me that instead of my first name, but it didn't catch on. I have carried on my name by giving it to my daughter for her middle name. She also loves it. We both have problems at times with people trying to add a second L. Once a teacher even told my daughter she was spelling her name wrong and she came home upset, but I reassured her that she was correct-not the teacher." Jul. 5, 2009:
"my middle name is michele and people misspell it all the time..." May. 23, 2009:
"My name is Michele with one "L", too. People mispell it all the time. They either add two "L's" or they forget the second "E". Subs at my school even say "Michael" when they read my name. Where to they get that from? There's not even an "A" in my name. I still like my name, though. One of my teachers even gave me a nickname. I'm "One 'L' Michele"" Mar. 27, 2009:
"I love the spelling of my name! I think of it as a completely different name from Michelle even though they are pronounced the same way. I think it's a really pretty name." Feb. 4, 2009:
"This is my name and I'm proud to wear it. At a retreat one time, we had to "wear" a randomly-selected personality trait. I got "thrifty." In the lunch line, a person looked at my nametag and said, "Oh, you spell Michele with one "L"." I replied, "That's because I'm thrifty!"" May. 7, 2008:
"My name is Michele with one "L". My mom named me after a French actress and that is how the French spell it. I like it with one "L". It was weird because I actually worked with 2 other Michele's at a job and we all spelled it with one "L"." May. 1, 2008:
"it's my name. Misspellings get old but I like it with the 1L. It's less common then the 2Ls. You get a lot of stupid people "why did they misspell your name?" I love to tell those people my mom didn't want HELL is my name. Ha!" Apr. 9, 2008:
"It's a decent name for someone my age. (20s) Wouldn't recommend using it on a baby since it's kinda dated. I enjoy this spelling of the name despite the fact that no one ever spells it correclty. It just seems more powerful and less frilly than Michelle." Dec. 10, 2007:
"This is my name and I love it! Occasionally I meet others with the same spelling (only 1 'L'). The incorrect spelling of my name is a pet peeve of mine I have to say. I understand that if you hear it, you will write Michelle. But if you see it in an e-mail address, why do people not notice that it only has 1 'L'. I guess I am just more detail-oriented and notice unusual spellings of names. Anyway, I prefer the spelling as Michele and I would recommend this name!" Nov. 20, 2007:
"My sister's name is Michele. We've always liked the spelling." Jul. 5, 2007:
"That is my name and I have always like it, It's pretty and feminine and a form of Michael, a great name. People still like to sing a few bars of the song, believe it or not, I am most often called Melissa and surprisingly Cheryl by mistake." Nov. 6, 2006:
"My name is Michele. I think the name is common but I like that my name only has one L. That makes it a little different." Oct. 6, 2006:
"The name Michele is the most wonderful name in the world." Sep. 16, 2006:
"my name is michele with one L, and after the beatles wrote the song with 2 LL's it was quite bothersome; although later in life i have come to appreciate the beauty of the name and its meaning, which your site omits. it means "one who is like god", as the masculine michael." Apr. 17, 2006:
"I hate it when solicitors call my house and say, "Can I speak to Mitchel" or, "Is Michael in?" One sorry soul in my whole-legged life pronounced my name: Mitch-eel-lee" Feb. 2, 2006:

"Michele is great if you're a guy otherwise Michelle for girls." Mar. 29, 2014:
"My name is Michele. I love it! I'm 47 years old (born in 1966) so my parents named me at the height of its popularity. I hate it when people read my name as "Michael" (which I named my son, btw, and which has always been one of the most popular boy names). Whenever this happens I say, "Michael has a freaking 'A' in it! Do you see an 'A' in my name?!?" Lol" Jul. 11, 2013:
"I'm named Michele. It's kinda a dated name now, but I really do prefer the French 1 L spelling to the uber trendy two L spelling. But expect lots of misspellings. You really have to watch people! They misspelled it on my drivers license." Jul. 29, 2005:
