"My daughter's name is Kerry, after the county where her grandparent were from. In England, where she was born no one ever spelled her name wrong. Since we moved to the States - its almost always spelled Carrie - which is funny because we pronounce the two differently in England, but not over here - Except her cousins from New York City - they say it the right way!" "My name is Kerry and I like my name. I am not sure why people would spell the name Kerry Carrie when Carrie is short for Caroline and nothing to do with the name Kerry. Kerry is a country in Ireland and it's pronounced KEH-REE. Luckily I am from England and don't have the pronunciation problems. Also Kerry is mainly a girls name so no one else thinks I will be a boy. I love my name :)" Jan. 6, 2013:

But now, since I have been to Ireland to Kerry County -- its beautiful! -- I really love my name. It's unique." Aug. 7, 2005:
