"My name is Jolene but it's spelled Joleen so many people spell it wrong" Jul. 26, 2015:
"My name is Jolene, although I spell it Joleane. People say my name wrong all the time because of the silent a. Every where I go people tell me they love my name and that it's very beautiful. I'm very happy that my mother named me Jolene. It's very unique and I love it." Mar. 25, 2014:
"I am also Jolene - a combination of my father's and mother's name. Also, before the Dolly Parton song. I wish I had a nickle for every time someone has sung my name to me. Hated it as a kid, love it as an adult, gave it to my daughter as her middle name and she actually likes it when her friends call her by Jolene. Of course I always knew about the Dolly song, but I am absolutely amazed at the number of songs that are about a Jolene! It's kind of weird, given that I've only met a couple of Jolenes in my lifetime. Don't quite understand why songwriters are drawn to this name. Since my name was a combination of my father and mother's name, when I was younger I was convinced I was the only one in the world!" Mar. 30, 2013:
"My husband and I just named our daughter Jolene Valerie. I hope she likes it because it's suits her. :)" Oct. 4, 2010:
"I've never met another girl named Jolene before in my life! I love my name (Jolene) because its so unique but every one spells it wrong even my friends! But I wouldn't trade it for the world! ;)" Mar. 30, 2008:
"Funny to view this chart, as Jolene seems to have hit her peak in the seventies and that is the exact same era that I was born (1972). But I'm not a Jolene in an American way but Jolien in a Dutch way. And proud of it!
In Holland the name has always been quite unique. For instance, I have only met another Jolien once in my life. People sometimes spell it as Joline, or they think it's Janine. The name is now booming a little, recently many more Jolien's were born and altough I feel flattered I don't really like sharing my special name but fortunately I seem to be the only 35 year old Jolien!" "All my life I have had to spell my name to people or say it very slowly. They get it wrong almost every time. I get everything from mispronounciation to misspelling. I've met a few Jolenes but hardly ever the same spelling, perhaps a 'Joleen' or a 'Joylene'." Aug. 21, 2006:
"My daughters name is Joylynne. She is 13 and she absolutely loves it. I found it in a really old baby name book!!! It's really a great and very unique name. But I can't find anything with her name on it, and it is constantly spelled wrong. Still, it's beautiful!!!" Dec. 10, 2005:

"My name is jolene I am 10 and I don't have middle name so just jolene is kind of weird I'm the only one in my family and school, who doesnt have a middle name" Apr. 24, 2015:
"My name is Jolene. When I was young I didn't like it because I was the only one in school with that name. Now that I am older I love it because it's different. When I meet people they usually sing my name to me or say do you know there's a song named Jolene. Lol like I haven't heard that before. I was named Jolene before the Dolly Parton song, and still smile when I hear the song on the radio or on singing competitions like The Voice. My eyes are blu and my hair is blonde, but I will always love that song and the name Jolene." Dec. 22, 2012:
"I NAMED MY DAUGHTER JOLENE LEE IN 1976. I LOVE THIS NAME!" May. 7, 2011:
"My name is jolene and I love this name a lot and people call me jojo for short till today if thay see me that sing the song jolene and it makes me feel so awsum oi love my name a lot and I wud not change iot for the world" Feb. 5, 2011:
"My nam Is Jolene Dawn. Maybe if my middle name were different I'd like it a little better! I think Jolene is such a boxy hard name that it needs a more feminine middle name. I am constantly mistaken for Joanne or Julie when asked my name. It's rather annoying. But, it has it's plusses like many songs named Jolene and not that many people have it. But, if you ask me, definitely wouldn't have used it on my own child!" Oct. 3, 2010:
"My name is jolene, and I love my name. I only know one other jolene, and she is my cousin who was named after me. I'm 26 years old and my parents put both their names together, Joe and Linda (my grandparents called her Lena) to get my name. And funnily enough they said they never even heard the "jolene" song by dolly parton when they thought of my name. People still tell me til this day all that dolly parton has a song with my name! Thanks I know alll about it!haha There are also a lot of southern songs with my name too (I'm from NY). I just love it, one of a kind, and I like having a unique name rather than a standard name everyone else shares. People tell me how beautiful it is all the time. :)" Aug. 17, 2010:
"I love this name. you could call her Joey for short. Ray Lamontagne also sings a beautiful song called Jolene." Sep. 17, 2009:
"I find it interesting to look at these charts and then wonder why they peak where they do. This one is too easy, but worthwhile mentioning -- the peak in '74-'75 coincided with the release of Dolly Parton's single 'Jolene.' Given the previous highs set in the late 50's, most Jolenes in the country would have been young (15-20) when the song was released" Jun. 3, 2008:
