"When I was younger I didn't like it, the other kids used to make fun of it. But I have grown to appreciate its uniqueness. I was named after my father, you guessed Henry, and a friend of the family, Henrietta Reeves, she said to my parents if its a boy call him Henry if its a girl call her Henrietta cause none of her friends or family named the daughters after her. In my family only my dad and my baby sister calls me by a nickname, my sister sometimes calls me Rietta, and my dad calls me Henry when he wants something done that my brother, Henry should be doing. Yes, I even have a brother Henry, I guess after 3 daughters he grabbed the chance to name a boy after himself. There have been times when dad has called me Henry with my brother in the same room as me but somehow we always know which one he is talking to. One time my brother and I were sitting watching tv, he called out Henry I need you to give me a hand. I stood up, my mom said he is asking for your brother, I said ask him who he wants, and sure enough it was me. Its just the way he say it, my brother and I always knows. The only thing that bugs about my name is all the differ and wrong ways people misspell it, for example Heneretta, Henryetta, Henrita. I have grown to appreciate my unique name, which means Mistress of the Household, or as I like to interpret it The Boss. LOL" Jun. 3, 2009:

"I love being named Henrietta. I've only met one other person with the same name. People sometimes say "Oh that's my grandmother's name or my great-aunt's name." No one else seems to want to name their daughter this name, even though Henry is becoming very popular! All the better, it's great to have a unique but pronouncable name!" Jan. 2, 2008:
"This is my mom's name. She comes from a dutch heritage. People shorten it to "Henri" but people who don't know have mistaken her for a man before they met her. Henny is an awful nickname." Nov. 7, 2007:
