"yes people do! Gigi. No. I love it 😁❤💕😉" Nov. 1, 2017:
"Gigi, that wonderful bouncy name, was what my mother one bright & sunny day decided to be called after 40 years of her christened name of Gisela or Gi for short. Neither of which she liked. Her grandchildren naturally called her Gigi, too, instead of Grandma. But I always called her Mom. Gigi had a wonderful nature, was well-liked, slender, tall and lived to be 89.
Pretty sharp of mind but mild-mannered to the end.
Gigi is a pet name for other names, too, but,
I'm surprised that this website does not even list Gisela - at least I couldn't find it here(surprisingly, as Gisela is a popular name in Germany)and surely there are hundreds of immigrants in the USA from German-speaking countries named Gisela. Maybe they call themselves Gigi, too. I sure would." Mar. 22, 2014:
"I have always been known as Gigi (its my middle name) because my first name (Ashton) is a family name and there are currently 4 of us so we have had to call ourselves different things to avoid confusion!" May. 6, 2013:
"This is my oldest daughter's nickname. Her full name is Genevieve Georgia." May. 17, 2006:

"I love this name as a nick name for Gianna, the italian Feminine form of John. I knew a little girl named Gianna who used to live down the street. We called her Gigi! How cute!" Nov. 25, 2008:
"My name is Gigi and people can always figure out who the Gigi is in a crowd of people somehow. I've gotten a lot of compliments and I love my name. I didn't like being called "zsa zsa" (like Gabor) growing up or "fifi" but no one does that now- I'm 29. People always remember my name and I think that helps me out personally and sometime professionally too- it's a great name and works well for a girl if you want her to have an outgoing fun-loving personality." "My daughter's name is Gigi and she fits it to "T"...fun loving & unique." Jun. 29, 2008:
"My full name is Gabriella, but my nickname is Gigi. Gigi is on my birth announcement. People give me a lot of compliments on my name. I love the name Gigi, because it is so unique, and is so versatile and boundless. A lot of people pronounce my name as "Gee-Gee." The correct pronunciation is, at least in my case is the french G, as in "Jhi-Jhi". As a result, some people spell my name G.G. I have met a small handful of Gigi's, but never anyone who pronounces it the same way I do. Go Gigi's everywhere!" Jul. 10, 2007:
