"My full name is Elizabeth, but I've always been called Beth (which I love). Elizabeth is a classic, regal, feminine and international name that is known around the world. I use Elizabeth is some professional instances, though, and I hate it when people just assume they can call me Liz. I really abhor the name Liz--it sounds so harsh. It seems rude that some people just assume they can call you Liz without even asking, and then I have to correct them: ?It?s Beth? never Liz, please.? It's amazing, but some people don't seem to know that Beth is a short form of Elizabeth. I even had a guy argue with me once, saying that Beth does not come from Elizabeth!! Whatever...
Elizabeth is a great name that ages well, but I do prefer the spelling Elisabeth. I had even thought of changing the spelling of my name, but now I think it?s a little too late. But otherwise, I love my name. Thanks, Mom!!" May. 26, 2018:

"We named my daughter Elizabeth Rose. We wanted something classic and beautiful. Rose because she was all rosey and we called her rosey posey in the hospital and it was pretty. My mom thinks we named her Elizabeth because her middle name is Elizabeth but my favorite literary character is Elizabeth Bennett but I also love Elizabeth Taylor in old old movies and from My Fair Lady, Liza Doolittle. We mostly call her Elizabeth but her nick names are Lee Lee, Lily, Lizbeth and Lizbug (she is only two) we wanted to give her a name that was strong and would look good on business cards or officail documents. Its Miss Elizabeth Rose Warren. Every one loves her name." Aug. 27, 2009:

"My name is Ashley Elizabeth and then I also have 2 cousins with Elizabeth as their first name...one of them is named Elizabeth Claire and we call her Eclair for short and the other we call Libby. It's a beautiful, classic name." Oct. 30, 2008:
"My sister is named Elizabeth, after my great-grandmother Mary Elizabeth. I think it is a beautiful name, very flowing and rich with a variety of phonetic sounds. It also has a long and honored history, and remains one of the all-time most popular names, also having the most variations and the most nicknames of any other name I have studied. My sister's nickname is Libby, but as an adult professionally she prefers Elizabeth. I would have to say she does it justice, having a masters in linguistics and a doctorate in Near Eastern Studies, and having devoted much of her life to translating languages of some the world's most remote people." Oct. 17, 2008:
"How's this, my best friend's name is Eilish. Which is Irish for Elizabeth. She hates her name but I think its beautiful! Its so individual, and I love to confuse people, [as does Lishy] and it seems to do the job lol.. Mwahahaha!! She is extremly loveable, fun, outgoing, and 100% spastic! LOVE TO ALL OTHER EILISH'S OUT THERE!! Mwah! Xx" Aug. 21, 2008:
"I love my name. I hate it when people say that it is a boring and old fashioned name. It is a beautiful name. Lots of people try to shorten my name to lizzy or liz, but none of those fit me. the only nicknames i accept are lizzibet and lizbet. although one of my friends calls me urzy...." Aug. 12, 2008:
"I love my name. I hate it when people are like "Elizabeth is such an overused boring name". They should just suck it up. I am very offended when people say thay hate my name. I am proud to have a name that means oath of god because I am very religious. :3 ýý" Jul. 23, 2008:
"I'm an Elizabeth, not a Liz. or Lizzy or any other names." Jul. 15, 2008:
"My daughter was born on the 17th June and we love this name.....she will be known as Libby, at least until she is naughty !!!" Jul. 14, 2008:
"Hey, my name is Elisabeth, and I love it!! It is not wierd or anything, actually it is the traditional European way. So don't say that, it is really kind of offensive." Jul. 9, 2008:
"My parents actually named me Elizabethann. It's pronounced like elizabeth ann and not like the time period. I LOVE my name so much because even though it is so popular it is still a beautiful name. What's really funny is that I have only met one person with the name Elizabeth even though how popular it is. When I meet peopl I tell them my name is Elizabeth because it is hard for the to say my full name. I am definetly thinking about naming my daugher, when I have one, Elizabeth or after my mother Isabel. I Cannot believe how lucky I am to have such a beautiful name and with it so many nicknames. People have/do call me Ebaby, Egirl, Ebabe, Lizzi, Liz, Lizz, Eliza, Elisa, Liza, and even sometimes Lizabeth. But the classic names are always Elizabeth and Elizabethann." Jul. 7, 2008:
"My name is Elizabeth but hardly anyone ever calls me that, even though I've never asked anyone to call me anything different. My immediate family and a few friends call me B or Aunt B. My work friends call me Liz, Lizzy, or even Iz, and my extended family still calls me Beth, even though that is my least favorite of my nicknames. The only people that call me Elizabeth are people I've just met and people that I know from school but aren't friends with. There are so many nicknames that come from Elizabeth that its pretty much impossible to only be known by that name." Jun. 30, 2008:
"elizabeth is a great name because people like to call me lizzy, lilly , it's so much fun to be call that!" May. 6, 2008:
"I love my name. It is what I am and I think it fits me perfectly. My name is Fantastic! :D" Apr. 9, 2008:
"My second name is Elizabeth and I love the name Elizabeth and am thinking about calling my daughter that but I hate the name Liz and Lizzy - which is what my dad calls me. I don't want her name to be shortned so that is the only thing that may disuade me. Otherwise I love Elizabeth classy and meaningful." Apr. 1, 2008:
"My name is Elizabeth. I know only one other Elizabeth. I like to be called lizzy even though my mom hates it." Mar. 19, 2008:
"My name is Elizabeth and I love it!I think it fits me sooo well!" Mar. 7, 2008:
"My first name is Elizabeth and I LOVE my name. The only downfall with it is that people tend to think that they can shorten it automatically. I go by Elizabeth and it ALWAYS gets shortened to Liz. I'm just not a Liz..." Mar. 6, 2008:
"its cool pooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo" Feb. 26, 2008:

"My name is Elisabeth. When I was younger I didn't like my name because so many people had the same name then I realized there may be alot of Elisabeth's in this world but there is only one like me I'm unique. As I got older I fell in love with the name. Although I knew three other people with the same first name mine is spelled with an s instead of a z so that made me feel extra special. When I have my daughter I plan to name her Isabel which is another form of Elisabeth." Jan. 29, 2008:
"It's my own first name, from my paternal grandmother." Jan. 20, 2008:
"Elizabeth is my first name and i think its awesome.
Its way cooler than Elisabeth spelled with an s.
Zs are so way better than Ss!!!" Jan. 3, 2008:
"Love this name! It has more nicknames than any other girls name in the English language so your daughters will have lots of choices if they don't like Elizabeth. Our Elizabeth goes by Betsy. I think it is classic, sweet, pretty, and happy." Dec. 17, 2007:

"The name Elizabeth has always commanded respect and drawn an air of mystery to its beholder. Broken down "Eliza" represents the notions of feminine mystique, on the verge of witchcraft, where "Beth" is of the home and maternal spirit. Any woman who bears the name Elizabeth with confidence is destined to be a jewel among her peers." Oct. 18, 2007:

"Even though it's very common it's still a beautiful name." Aug. 8, 2007:
"what i love about this name is that it is really hard to make fn of it. no one can make some rude ryme ot of it. like josey grossy. this name is perfect" Aug. 4, 2007:

I think Elizabeth has so many nicknames which i love, i have never been called Betty but i have been called Liz, Lizzy, Beth, and Lizard among others.
