  • "This is my name,I was Chrissie when I was little, then I insisted on being called Chris, when I was 20 I wanted to be called Christine. One can tell how long someone has known me by if they call me Chris or Christine. Lately everyone seems to call me Christina, which annoys me,so Im reverting back to Chris!" • "From the time I was very little my name was shortened to Chris. My grandmother always called me Christine and it always sounded so beautiful coming from her that when I was around 20 I started going by Christine. My only issue with the name is that over and over people call me ?Christina? or when I tell someone who is writing down my name I?m always saying, ?Christine, with a ?C?. It seems like most people I?ve met with the name Christine are ditzy. LOL, I know I?m even saying that about myself! Overall I love the name Christine :)))" Aug. 17, 2018: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Christine but my family just called me Christy as a nickname" Apr. 3, 2018: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Christine Mary. Most of my family & friends call me Chris. At work I asked to be called Chris because it seemed young & modern, but now at the age of 59 years I prefer to be called Christine. If I meet anyone new I introduce myself as Christine & not Chris." Mar. 10, 2016: Report as inappropriate

  • "I've always been called Christine with the exception of my family... they call me Chris. When I'm called Chris, I feel that it is special, since it comes from family. I do love my name (the long and abbreviated Chris), because as others said above... I rarely run into anyone with this name. My niece as a toddler called me Mama Tine." Jan. 24, 2011: Report as inappropriate

  • "I am 10. Just like the comment above mine my best friend's 3rd name is Christine. I love this name it's very unique and special. I also love the meaning;'Child of Christ'.Although people get it mixed up I still adore the name. For now I don't know anyone else called Christine but this simply makes me feel special." • "This is my name...and I really love it. However, was VERY popular when I was born.I went to school with between 5-10 Christines in each of my classes from grade school up. Even as an adult, my workplace had 11 women in the office...and 5 of us were named Christine --including my manager! I REALLY hate to be called by anything other than Christine...although it has been shortened to Chris, or Tina...or misunderstood as Christina. I prefer Christine." • "I have always loved my name! I am Christine Mary and I love it because of its meaning, and second you rarely find another Christine around. It is really annoying when people call me Christina, and I don't really like it when people shorten my name because I have been known as Christine my whole life! It is a great name and it is so pretty and sophisticated! I will never grow out of it! It may sound weird but its true that some people will grow out of their names! Like I just picture a baby Brittney...and then can you a picture an 80 old grandma named Brittney ??? lol" Nov. 22, 2009: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name's Christine and I love it, it has been the perfect name for me: generally simple (people sometimes call me Christi/Christin when they don't hear my name properly) yet also classic and sophisticated. It's a name that's good for children as it seems to grow up with them (if that makes sense.) I've known a few other Christines but just enough to where it's fun, like you're in a club with them. Overall I've enjoyed being named Christine, it's a great name :)" Nov. 10, 2009: Report as inappropriate

I learned to stop answering people when they called me that... most people corrected themselves, but a few still call me that. Aug. 13, 2008: Report as inappropriate

  • "I grew up as Chrissy. Now I go by Chris...exept by my husband...he thinks it sounds like he is married to man. Haha. But, I can say that evidently we now live in a world of crazy spellings where even classic names are getting slaughtered. I get mail at work addressed to "Kristeen." I'm not sure I have ever seen it spelled that way. Perhaps I just come from a small town." Aug. 10, 2008: Report as inappropriate

  • "For many years I never liked my name. I never felt like a "Christine" - I always felt like a "Chris." It is only in the last year that I have seriously started thinking about using it. Most people always ask how to spell it. With a C or a K. I have been called Christina; I don't look like a Christina. Christine is a sharp, crisp and clean name. I have started on a journey to be more Christ-like and I do want to follow Christ. More of us need to follow Christ. This world is throwing God out of everything and seems to forget who is it that we all turn to when we find out selves in trouble? So, yes; I will be proud of my name and start using the full name of...Christine. Cheers to all of the "Christines" of the world!" Dec. 2, 2007: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is christine.. people call me chrissy. christine sounds formal and too long .. so i've adapted to christine.. apparently means follower of christ.. i am very spiritual.. if the words carry the meaning in the spirit of their sound.. it is working on me. i like the name christine.. it sounds clean..like pristine.. like a pristine crystal clean. haha. sounds like a new word to describe a material thing that is flawless." Nov. 17, 2007: Report as inappropriate

  • "I love my name. It's feminine and sweet and sounds good with a multitude of last names. I've never really seen it spelled "Kristine" but a lot of older people I meet tend to think it is spelled that way. A lot of people mistake me for a Christina though, and that kind of annoys me. I've known people for years who still think my name is Christina! I don't mind that much though - it's a little slip of the tongue. I've heard it's a common name (it says above me that it's in the top 1,000 baby names in the U.S.), but I've only met one other Christine in my life. My sister has an odd name, and she has met at least three girls with her name. Overall, I really like the name! :D" Nov. 16, 2007: Report as inappropriate

They are always surprised to find out I am not a Mr.! Ha. I wish I could go back to Christine now, but probably not too likely as too many know me as Chris. My Grandpa called me Chrisatina and have also been called Christy and Chrissy. None of those bothered me. I know a few other Christine's but not too many. One daughter named after my husband, so 2nd named Christa for me. A little too confusing sometimes!" Jun. 8, 2007: Report as inappropriate

It is a classic, solid but feminine name." Aug. 13, 2012: Report as inappropriate

  • "I am named Anne Christine. My mother loved the name Christine and also had a sister named Anne. I was born in 1962, just around the time that the Christine Jorgensen (fisrt "public" sex-change) controversy was brewing. My father refused to have my birth certificate read Christine Anne because of fear of reprisals and discrimination. So my mother gave in agreed to name me Anne Christine. No one ever called me Anne except for teachers, on the first day of school. Now, for official purposes, I refer to myself as Anne. It's more annonymous. I feet like the real "me", Christine, is still private and just for my friends and what family I still have. Personally, I have always liked my name and what is odd, is that my father, James Donald, was also referred to by his middle name until adulthood, when he became "Jim."" Probably the biggest is that most people call me Christina, even after being reminded several times that it's "Christine". Another issue is the spelling often times you have to spell it for them so that they can get it right since there are so many different variations." Oct. 3, 2006: Report as inappropriate

  • "My best friend is named Christine. A lot of people call her "Christina" which she doesn't really like." Sep. 20, 2006: Report as inappropriate

  • "I love my name because it's full of meaning for me and I think it has a beautiful sound. I guess it is because I am fond of my name that I don't particularly like it when people try to shorten my name calling me "Chris". I especially don't like it when people call me "Chrissy". They are quickly corrected. When I give my name most people ask, "Is that with a 'C'?" So, it's fairy rare that people spell it or pronounce it wrong. The worst misspelling I've ever encountered was a clerk at an eatery who typed "Cristeen" on my receipt. While it was a curious choice of spelling it didn't ruin my day." • "Christine is my Grandmother's name. I'm expecting a little girl in June and my husband and I are considering this name. I absolutely love it! You don't hear little girls with this name much anymore. We wouldn't shorten it either. We would call her "Christine"" Mar. 3, 2006: Report as inappropriate
