"My name is Buffie, and I am 35 years old. My father named me after the little girl on "A Family Affair." He wanted my name to be even more unique and spelled it differently than hers though. I've only met 1 other woman with the same name & spelling as mine, and we were both named after the same tv character." Feb. 24, 2018:
"This is my name, my mother named me after Buffy Saint Marie, and all my life I have been made fun of or compared to, "Buffy and Jodie" or Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Its old. I wish I could get paid for all the torture. Oh yeah and of coarse the big joke in my own family is my mom left out the saint on purpose. This is my real name. Not a nick name. I hated my name but now that I am older I like it but I don't like people comparing me to a movie or a TV show. Or to a dog. The worst is when people tell me they have a dog name buffy. That's the worst insult. Those are my thoughts" Sep. 11, 2014:
"I like the originallity of the name. It is true most people say "Buffy the Vampire," But my nane came from the show, "Family Affair."" Feb. 25, 2010:
"it's my middle name, and for the last 11 years people only think of "buffy the vampire slayer" when they are told." Nov. 3, 2008:
"Buffy is short for Bonita. I chose Buffy as my nickname instead of Bonnie because it's cute and silly just like me. Everyone asks what Buffy is short for and it does get annoying after a while but hey, they all have nasty common names like Madison and Emily." Jul. 26, 2007:
