  • "I am a millennial with the name Brenda. I love my name. There was never another Brenda in school or at work. Brenda seems old fashioned, which I happen to love! Older women compliment my name more often than girls my age. It doesn?t bother me one bit. I hope when my friends start having children, the name Brenda makes a comeback! Everyone tries so hard to think of a ?different or unique? name for their child. Bring Brenda back!!! She will surely feel one of a kind and classic !!" Oct. 17, 2018: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Brenda and i'm 11 years old. It's uncommon to hear a child with the name Brenda. I've only met people about 10 or more years older than me with the name Brenda. I'm actually proud of this. I don't even why i'm commenting though.... actually I was bored." Jan. 28, 2018: Report as inappropriate

  • "I am named Brenda, and I was never really bothered by my name, in fact I like it, but it is really uncommon as I haven't met anyone named Brenda yet, sure I've seen actors on TV named Brenda, like in the show "Zack and cody" 's London(Brenda song) I actually get really happy when I come across my name in a book or TV show and the character or person is really cool cause well I feel honored that out of all that female names the person could choose to right of, they named her Brenda. But I would like to actually look at an actual person face to face named Brenda :D" Feb. 25, 2017: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Brenda. I was born in 1960 when the name was popular. While growing up I met very few Brendas and didn't really like my name but at age 40 I worked as an RN is a hospital in the Kansas City Metro area with 4 other Brendas. I was so pleased to be in the company of 4 others, all great ladies and so decided I liked my name💕" Feb. 20, 2017: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Brenda I was born in 1975 Out of my class of 600 there was me that graduated with that name, there was one other Brenda in my entire school a year before me. I have not met any more Brendas since in person, though I work from home and speak with alot of people that call in and i met 4 Brenda's in one day. I was shocked... now the company I deal with is people calling in all around the US, but I have never came across that many. I love my name its different and not many atleast that I know have it..." • "I am named Brenda. My parents were of Irish ancestry. My husband's last name is Celtic (Shearon) and many Irish descendants immediately realize my name as going back to the Celts in the days of "Beowolfe" and this makes feel proud of my name." Apr. 10, 2015: Report as inappropriate

  • "I was named Brenda in 1952. My name was chosen because my uncle was dating a Brenda whom my Mom liked a lot. I have always been called a nickname and didn't care for my name for many years because my only my sister called me Brenda, in a condescending manner. Now I like it because it represents my era and was the name of someone nice!" Mar. 7, 2015: Report as inappropriate

  • "I was born in the 50s when the name was very popular. I never thought about it much until high school and entering college. Of course, the older I got,the less popular my name became making it more unique and not overly feminine. My entire life, for women my age I was constantly surrounded with Carols, Lindas, and Deborahs (alt. sp. Debra). I think the name Brenda has just enough "flavor" compared to the more popular names of my infant era. Mostly, I treasure it because it's the very first thing my beautiful and petite young mother gave me." Jan. 7, 2012: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Brenda and I was born in 1982. I have never met anyone around my age with this name but many older women. And when I was younger I was not fond of it. But now I like it. I've never had anyone mispronounce it but surprisingly people have misspelled it quite a few times spelling it Brinda Brynda." May. 17, 2009: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Brenda and I have always hated my name. It is just an ugly, boring, plain name. There is nothing special about it at all. I have never liked it and at 51 years old I don't think that I will learn to like it anytime soon. My father named me after his secretary that he thought a lot of. I grew up knowing her and I love her, but not her first name! LOL. My friends in high school started calling me Bre (Bree) and I like that. My school friends and my family still call me Bre. I guess I should start introducing myself as Bre instead of Brenda. I just cringe when I hear my name. As a matter of fact, I ask my husband not to call me by my first name. The other option my parents had chosen was Rhonda and I don't care for that name either. I have no idea what name I would choose for myself but it wouldn't be Brenda! I have no idea what it would feel like to love my own name and I am envious of girls that do. I know there are a lot of names out there that are worse than Brenda so I should just count my lucky stars and get over it. It could be a lot worse, but it could be a lot better also. I just don't think Brenda is a pretty name or a sexy name or a prestigious name. It's just a boring name. Don't name your baby girl Brenda." Oct. 1, 2017: Report as inappropriate

  • "Common, terribly common. I'm a Brenda, and I know at least 15 other girls with the same name so far." May. 21, 2015: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Brenda and I was born in 1970. NO other girls were ever named that in the schools I went to. Maybe it was ok in the 50's and early 60's, but in my time It is a name for losers and unattractive people. Parents should put more thought into their children's names, I hate names that end in "duh"" Jan. 20, 2019: Report as inappropriate

  • "I love my name! I was born in 1999. Im from argentina 😘" Oct. 6, 2018: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Brenda and I feel like it is a strong and classy name. It nicely fits with my partly Scott?s/Irish background and is not overly common. It is easy to pronounce and spell. I am happy with my name." Sep. 19, 2018: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Brenda Katherine, born in 1964. I had 1 classmate (out of 76 students) who also had my name. But overall, I've bumped into very few Brenda's in my lifetime. Part of me is glad it isn't an overly popular name, but I'd like to see it make a comeback. I'm a school teacher and have had so many boy students named Brendan. I think it's interesting that people seem to like Brendan, but Brenda simply isn't used." Sep. 26, 2017: Report as inappropriate

  • "I was born in 1945 and am pleased to see, thanks to this thread, my parents were so ahead of the rimes!. My parents were from southern Illinois and I was born in North Carolina. I hated the Lou middle name until I looked more into the lady I was name for. I have met a Brenda every couple of years, but never a Brenda Lou. I was born before Brenda Lee was popular." • "My name is Brendalee. I was named after Brendalee the singer my dad was a big fan. I was called Brendalily by my friends mom and I like that better..no one was ever allowed to call me Brenda, it was always Brendalee." Feb. 12, 2017: Report as inappropriate

  • "My twin sister and I were born in 1940. We were named Brenda Joyce and Linda Loyce. We were born at home, and when we were 8 days old, the Dr.said he had to file the birth certificates that day, so they picked Joyce for me and Loyce for Linda. The names Brenda and Linda were added later." Jan. 23, 2017: Report as inappropriate

  • "I was born in the late 60's in ND and had three other Brenda's in my small graduating class of 67 students. My grandmother, of German descent, would spell it Brinda. Was told I was named Brenda Jo after another person with the same name who was always so nice to my mother. I think the middle name Jo makes it an ok name." Dec. 23, 2016: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is brenda and i dont like it. It feels so regular and unoriginal. I probably wouldnt mind the name if my last wasnt as common and regular. Ive met 4 Brenda Rodriguez(which is my full name. No middle name!)in one year. Its probably not that common but it makes me feel like a regular person. Not special at all. I would like to change it but then that just wouldnt be me. I feel like im perminantly unoriginal." Mar. 31, 2015: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Brenda, never was fully fond of it nor disliked it. My grandmother loved the 90210 show, so that's how I got it.Growing up I never meet any other Brenda, but I kept being told by my classmates and teachers that there mother's name is Brenda. That was a bit annoying but now I'm proud of that fact because my fashion sense is relative." Mar. 2, 2013: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Brenda, born in 1957 and named after Brenda Starr also and not the singer Brenda Lee, even tho my middle name IS Lee! I get "Bren" a lot; even my husband calls me that and my nieces and a few other people call me Brennie. It's an okay name, but I don't know that many Brendas..." Mar. 17, 2012: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Brennda (yes, 2 n's). I haven't met anyone else with the different spelling and very few other Brenda's in my lifetime. Born in the 80s, it's not a common name. I like the meaning of my name, but actually can't stand it, I go by Brenn and people tell me my nickname suits my personality much more." Dec. 24, 2010: Report as inappropriate

  • "because I live near Canada, people often call me BRINDA with a long I instead of the soft e, and when I lived in the south I was Brenda Lee (all one word though) even though Lee is my middle name, there was one other Brenda Lee in my school 2 years behind me but as an adult I only know a few other people with my name" Sep. 2, 2010: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Brenda and I was born in 1954. I always felt that my name was unusual. I have met very few Brendas in my life. I guess I like my name more now than I did when I was younger just because it is not that common." May. 5, 2009: Report as inappropriate

  • "I hated my name growing up. Now that I'm older, I don't mind it so much. It wasn't very popular when I was young (born in the mid-70's). When a 90210 character was named Brenda, it was refreshing. People call me Bren which I like a lot." Nov. 6, 2008: Report as inappropriate

  • "I personally like this name. I was born in the 80s, so I would watch Beverly Hills, 90210 with my big sister and we thought Brenda Walsh was the luckiest girl in the world b/c her boyfriend was Dylan and her best friend was Kelly (the coolest chick at West Beverly) anyways, I may name one of my daughters this, to keep a tiny part of my childhood around." Sep. 1, 2008: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Brenda. And have met a few in my lifetime. I like my name. People often call me "Bren." I like that even more.... It is what is. My latin friends call me Brendita!" Jun. 25, 2008: Report as inappropriate

  • "I was born in the 50s at the peak of popularity. Every now and then I meet another Brenda. I was named after the comic strip Brenda Starr, but my hair is not red and I'm not a reporter." Jan. 6, 2008: Report as inappropriate

  • "My name is Brenda. I'm not too crazy about my name though. There's just nothing special about it. It sounds so boring and bland. But the good thing about it is I have never had anyone pronounce or spell my name wrong even once! Luckily, you just can't get it wrong. So I guess its made my life a little easier. Having to correct people with my last name is hard enough!" Mar. 5, 2007: Report as inappropriate
