"I love the name Thor. It has such a strong history. We are naming our son Thorin. I?m a little nervous about the reactions we?ll get but my husband and I both love it." Apr. 14, 2020:
"I named my son Thor in 2008 without knowing about the marvel stuff. I am Norwegian by descent and my husbands German descent and Thor he is now 11 and looks every bit of his name. He tends to be shy but his name is always an icebreaker for kids to get to know him and say something to him even if they don?t know what to say? Like so many kids are. He is in sixth grade which is middle school for us and there has been no problem. Actually of all of the difficulties raising a child his name has been extremely fun for him. We named him Thor because He lived through a pregnancy that neither of us were supposed to live through. I was told not to name him and not to get the nursery ready because I really had no chance of having him and would most likely pass away before giving birth. When we finally delivered we had agreed on Thor? It was the only name we both agreed on. He will always be reminded of how strong he really is." Jan. 3, 2020:
"Me and my husband wanted to name our child an unusual instead of the same old common names. We named him Thorin and so we can shorten it to Thor, he suits his name and it is a strong masculine name. I don't think anyone should judge another for name choice and it's immature too. We should go with what we feel is right not by what society wants you too." Sep. 25, 2019:
"My father's name was Thor and he gave me the name Thor. So I named my son.... Thor. Sometimes it is a lot to live up to but I wouldn't have it any other way." May. 5, 2019:
"I named my first son Thor and we love the name and it fits him so well. It is different and when people hear it they question me until they meet him and then they say hey couldn't be any other name!" Jun. 11, 2008:
