"Love the different spelling! We chose this wonderful name for our son. He truly is our "gift from God". And, he can choose to be called "Nathan", "Nate", "Nat"...." Aug. 24, 2009:
"My name is Nathanial, everyone calls me Nathan which is fine. Those that don't call me Nathan call me Nath or Nafe." Aug. 16, 2009:
"The traditional spelling sounds more like two christian names put together - Nathan and Niel." Jul. 22, 2008:
"Its quite intresting I had just found out I was pregnant and somehow already knew I was having my now 2month son and for some reason nathanial came into my mind. I'm Mexican American and nathanial is not at all a common name for my culture but there's something very pure about the name and I hope that my son appriates having the middle name" Jul. 17, 2008:
"I gave my son the middle name Nathanial, but the nurse told me that was a misspelling, they thot since I had a hard time with the birth and my pain medication was effecting me and I was making a mistake! NOT! Then my grandson was born, his first name is Nathanial. We all love it and he has no nick names, except for 'thanial man when he was a baby. Even the school and all his friends know NO nicknames! He is a very bright boy of 10 and is on the honor roll at school. I couldn/t have asked for a better grandson!" Jun. 17, 2008:
"I love the name nathanial and all the people who think it is a bad name don't like me." Apr. 10, 2008:
"My oldest sons name is Nathanial. When I named him this in 2001 with the ial spelling everyone gave me grief saying I spelled it wrong. I had never seen it spelled this way before so I thought it would be an original twist. I am glad though to see it catching on. Now everyone wont think I just cant spell." Oct. 5, 2007:
"My colleague James named his new baby as Nathanial just a day ago. I became curious about the meaning and the search ended up here.
No doubt "Nathanial" is a cute name; The nick name Nathan as well. "Nathan" in many Asian languages and even in Sanskrit means "one who rules/owns everythingę. In a different context "The leader"
In all respect itęs a great name." Sep. 2, 2007:
"I am pregnant with a baby boy due Sept 8th 2007.
My husband and I plan to name the baby Nate Vincent. We loved the name Nathaniel, but hated the nickname Nathan. So by naming our son Nate, there is no confusion as to what to call him.
Six Feet Under made the name Nate very popular again." Aug. 23, 2007:
"We just had our first child and had a hard time coming up with a name. Nathanial just seemed to fit. We bumped heads with the spelling (ial vs iel) But I like ial. Hope he will too." Jul. 19, 2007:
"I'm due Oct.10th 2007 with a little boy. I wasn't sure what to name him til I found this name. It sounded just right. I'm very pleased. People in our family are already spelling it with an E instead of the Al, but thats ok - I love this name and the spelling! Lena" Jul. 16, 2007:
"I decided to name my first son, due in August '07, Nathanial. I just love it, my whole family loves it so I hope when he grows up he will to..." May. 2, 2007:
"Nathanial is my name.
People sometimes use an e instead even when the name has benn used correctly elsewhere.
I hate Nat and Nate, Natty is ok but prefer not. Thany is a nicer option. It is a uncommen christian disciple name and the nicest." Sep. 11, 2006:
"For some reason everyone wants to call me Nathan. Teachers at school when reading the role called my name Nathan. This infuriated my mother to no end and to this day she still calls me by my complete name, Nathanial. (And don't get me started on why she chose that spelling. I still don't know why and am still explaining to others the difference in my spelling.)" Jul. 28, 2006:
"Nathaniel is my brother and most people mispronounce his name to Daniel. He has the same name as one of Jesus's disciple also known as Bartholomew. People call him Nate, which my mother dislikes. we all love him,but we dislike the nicknames people call him." Jul. 17, 2005:

"Hey my name is Nathanial. I find it interesting how my name is spelt. I have seen many Nathaniels but all with the iel spelling. I don't mind it though, I think I rather have this spelling. It just looks more correct with an a then an e. I find it funny how I have to correct people when they try to spell my name. But the same goes for when people try to say it, and that gets rather bothersome to say the least." Apr. 6, 2010:
