"I was born 1968, Julian and while most of my mates & work colleagues call me Jules some still call me Julian. If I answer the phone I answer it "Hi, Julian speaking" and while I like it when people call me Jules I seldom refer to myself as Jules. - Is that weird?" Jan. 16, 2009:
"My 3 year younger brother is named Julian, we call him Jul or Jules. He's 10 now and has no problem with his name." Aug. 4, 2008:
"My 10 month old son is named Julian Ethan. I wanted a name people have heard of, but not on the top 10 name list. Just in case he grows up and hates the name (I can't image why he would) I gave him a common middle name (Ethan). My 20 month old daughter calls him "yew-ee"." May. 20, 2008:
"My brother is a Julian and has only recieved positive comments on his name through his life. He is 13 now and never had an issue with his name. We call him Jules or Julias for fun. When I tell people his name it is always praised and people say how much they like it." Mar. 19, 2008:
"My dad's name (he was born in 1933) is Julian, and he was named after his grandfather. If I had had a son, I would have named him Julian. However, my dad's nickname is "Jim" because his initials are "J.M." and when his southern parents called him that, the California neighbors thought they were saying "Jim" (JAY-em)!" Jan. 25, 2008:
"I am married to a Julian, I adore his name. He likes it too, named after Julian Lennon. I don't think I have met another which is nice, but there are a few in movies etc and they are not always nice characters! But I love it - like I love Jules!" Jan. 11, 2008:

"As a chld growing up in the north of England during the 70's & 80's, I had an absolute torrid time with this name. It wasn't until about mid 90's that I met another Julian and to this day I can only say I've come across four people with the same name. So, it is fairly unique, which is good, but it still puts me on the defensive when I hear it." Jul. 25, 2006:

"Can be hard to pull off in the UK without being seen as a Southern toff. Took me a while to grow into. Often mispronounced Julieanne. 3 syllable names are a bit long but it's easily shortened to Jay/Jude/Jolio. Irritating the traditional shorter version Jules appears to have suddenly become a girls name." Apr. 21, 2017:
"Our son was born Oct 2009 and we named him Julian after Julian Lennon and the song "Hey Jude" We love the name and we hope he likes it just as much when he grows up. :-)" May. 19, 2010:
"I love this name so much that my husband and I named our second son Julian. He is only 4, but loves his name and it's uniques, but not unheard of." Nov. 6, 2009:
"Julian McMahon ( Dr. Christian Troy on Nip/Tuck) makes this name attractive." Jan. 18, 2009:
"I used to get teased as a kid with "Julie-Ann" many a time. A lot of Americans pronounce it similarly which is wrong. It doesn't really bother me though.
Brits pronounce it correctly. As do most Southerners...especially Texans. :)" Feb. 21, 2008:
