  • "I named my daughter Hartley after reading a book entitled, "Soul/Mate" by Joyce Carol Oates writing under the pen name "Rosamond Smith". In this book, there is a female character named Hartley Evans. I had never heard of anyone having this name before and I really liked the name so I just named my newborn baby girl Hartley. Even though it says that it is traditionally a boys' name, I think it is better suited for girls." Nov. 10, 2011: Report as inappropriate
