I love it cos people either remember it or forget it completely. Usually the people who forget it are not worth remembering. It's fun, different, unique, unusual, unpredictable and surprising. All like me. I have even met a black poodle and a golden labrador called Zena. They were special moments, since I love dogs. I have travelled a fair bit and its amazing how many times I have been asked, "Are you, Greek, Egyptian, African, Iranian bla bla. I am 10 an I've never met anybody else named Zena. All my friends don't relize that it's kind-of an unusual name because they've called me that since we were young. I enjoy it, but older people tend to call me Dena instead of Zena.There have also been a couple of times when my mail read Zennia instead of Zena. When people hear it the first time I aswell get the Xena warrior princess joke(not funny anymore). But I do like my name it's not a common eritrean name. Comment left Dec 29, 2006: "My baptised name is zinovia, as passed on from my greek generations. There is a greek-cyprian Saint Zinovia who died for Christ, my name day is on 30th October. I have grown up with Gina in Australia, i later changed it to Zina in late highschool and had many teasing me as Xena Warrior Princess..i came to eventually like it, but i have used other similar names such as Zena, Zinaida at times. I have cousins with the name Zina all of which are strong characters with confidence. I have met another greek Zinovia in australia which she uses Jenny..currently living in england i have heard it persian,scottish, russion name also. There was an arabic princess they say. In arabic zina means unmaritual sex and sin. In Morrocan Zina means beauty as a flower. in ancient greek it means life from Zeus.
