Comment left Jul 10, 2007: "hi, my name is yasmin..and i'm very happy 2be named as Yasmin. itz originally from Arabic which means a flower(a beautiful and fresh smell flower) in Arabic itz known as ALWARDU-WALYASMIN (the folwer of Yasmin) itz pronounced as (YAS-MIN) not really hard 2 say it. but often people can happen to pronounce it wrong by changing the (Y) to (J) (jasmin) which is how should be written in English meaning the letter of (Y) is Arabic and usully pronounced in English as (J). the best thing is people always pronounce it correct and say they like it too. i know less people who have same name as me but heard lot, mostly younger. do u know if u don't like the long of it u can make it shorter and add it extra- such as Yas or yaska which is my nickname."
