If said the right way, it rolls nicely off one's tongue but unfortunately this rarely (never) happens. I sometimes wonder if I set her up for prejudice once it comes time for her to apply for employment, etc. I tell myself if this is so, then their not worth her presence but let's just hope for her sake this won't happen. I had the worst time with my name, this was early 60's when Cubans were rare up north. The kids called me Sumara . I decided to keep Sue as my nickname and to this day it has stuck. Whatever, I love both versions (the first one i prefer) and I go by Xio (c.o.) with most people. Almost everyone I've met tells me they love it and think it's beautiful, I think I've only ever received on "okay" reaction to it, and my friend recommended her aunt name her baby girl after me. I love it, it makes me original, and I feel a little saddened because I love my name (and the meaning too) so much I can't think of anything nicer to name my daughter, perhaps Xajamaia (sa-ha-maya)?" So I just laugh and say "Everyone want s'more of Samara". I was told that I was suppose to be a boy and she was visiting her parents in the south when she went into labor.She shared a hospital room with another new mom and she had a boy so they swithed names(My boy name was Stephan')and that's how I became Xio'mara.
