The most common nickname for it, in Argentina, is Vale. It's the funniest thing though, I always told everyone that when I have a daughter I'm going to name her Valentina, and then my grandma's maid had a baby on the same day as my birthday and she named her Valentina. I thought this was such a coincidence and now I'm for sure certain that my first daughter is going to be named Valentina.
