Comment left Jul 12, 2008: "As a child I was in Ballet class with very fine ballet masters from Russia. In my class was another little girl named Ursula. In their wonderful Russian accents the name was pronounced as "Your'-sala". It was such a beautiful sound that 45 years later the name, for me, is still filled with the sound of breathless romance, sheer loveliness." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Jul 04, 2008: "Under the sea I am a big octopus wiht squishy tentecles. I am EVIL and wil steal your voice if you are a red headed mermaid named Ariel! I eat flounder for breakfast!!!" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jun 23, 2008: "best name ever! i'll be calling my daughter Ursula. i don't know many pple called like that but i guess that's what makes it unique and great." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jun 16, 2008: "My name is Ursula and I absolutely hate it. My mother named me after the actress Ursula Andres, and I have no idea what possessed her to choose such an ugly name. I wish I could change my name, but alas, it is too late to do so at this point in my life." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Apr 28, 2008: "Sounds too much like Ursula the sea-witch in The Little Mermaid or General Zod's accomplice (she actually went by Ursa) in the original Superman films of 1978 and 1980. On a positive note, however, Ursula Andress was a great Bond girl in the first James Bond film Dr No in 1962 with Sean Connery as 007. In fact, I think she's been one of the greatest Bond girls of yesteryear ever going." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Mar 19, 2008: "Lovely name. We will be using it for our baby as I am mostly German and will be giving up my German last name in marriage. I would like for my daughter to have a scandinavian first name since she will have her fathers english last name." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Mar 03, 2008: "I really love being called ursula but just today i overheard somebody passionately saying how much they hated the name and they can't imagine how anybody would name their daughter this. it has really hurt my feelings, is it such a horrible name?" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Jan 21, 2008: "Ursa is the name of General Zod's female accomplice in the original two Superman films of 1978 and 1980. British actress Sarah Douglas played her alongside Terence Stamp as Zod and American actor Jack O'Halloran as their other accomplice Non, who unlike Zod was a beefy character, a good growler, but unable to talk." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Oct 09, 2007: "Ursule, my grgrgrandmother born in 1826 was French Canadian. I believe this is the French spelling of Ursula." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Sep 28, 2007: "My name is Ursela, and I must say growing up it was difficult to deal with having a different name that many of the other children could not pronounce correctly. But, as an adult I love my name!! I am the only Ursela (spelled with an "E") that I know and I thoroughly enjoy being able to say that my name is one of the most unique names around. It totally fits my personality!!" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jun 27, 2007: "My name is Ursula and I'm very glad I was to be named that. It makes me feel important. I'm the type of girl who has to be the leader so I guess that's one good quality. My daughter, Emily, is to be due in March 2008. I'm excited!" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jun 22, 2007: "My name is spelled Ersela. I have come to love the name now that I am older." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Mar 30, 2007: "I'm also from Austria. Ursula is a very common name there (if a little old-fashioned) and it's pronounced 'oor-su-lah'. Girls there with that name are usually called Uschi (pronounced 'oo-she') or Ursel ('oor-sle'). The name means 'female bear' and is derived from the latin 'ursus'." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Mar 24, 2007: "my name is Ursula I do not like it at all. it is not a popular name in Canada where i live. When i went to europe for a vacation it was popular there." (Report as inappropriate)
