I have not actually met another person with the same name as me, however, I have heard of someone having the name. As for nicknames, my parents called me Neilly and my friends called me Teneille, T, and Toe(y) (as in toe*nail = te*neille). I LOVE my name! I have been searching for the meaning of our name, and i found a few variations, all of which i think are made up , but they all sound good!
French = Beauty
American/Canadian/ Australian= Powerful & Strong Minded
English & Irish = Princess
Unknown celtic?? = Light

People I meet always make Captain and Tennille references, infact, that's my only knowledge of where the name comes from besides for the place in Georgia. I haven't met too too many Tennille's and I have yet to meet one who spells their name alike or the same as me. it's interesting to actually see the many variations of this name there are and how almost all of them I've seen on this post have all been the various attempts others have made trying to spell mine. A person with the name of Tennille no matter how you spell it is/will likely be a person whom develops a strong sense of humour and patience and I'd say those are pretty good characteristics to have."
