User Comments about the name Tawana
Comment left Sep 28, 2009: "My name is Tawanah. I pronounce it tuh-wah-nuh, but somehow most people manage to put a "d" in their pronunciation the first time they attempt to say it. I don't mind though because I quickly rectify their mistake and teach them to say it properly. I adore my name, and I always have. My paternal aunt's middle name is Tawanna and I was named after her, though my mother wanted to be a bit more creative and change the spelling while keeping the pronunciation. It seems that the older I've gotten (I was born late 1990), the easier a name it is for people to wrap themselves around. That is probably due to the influx of crazy names that everyone is giving to their children now. It tends to cause a few issues upon first meeting someone, but soon they get used to it, and it becomes natural to say. I love my name to say the least; I feel it fits me like no other name ever could." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left May 06, 2008: "My name is actually TARWANA and I was born in 1964. I was to be named tawana but it was mispelled on my birth certificate and my mother decided to keep it because she felt it was unique. I wasn't easy growing up in the seventies with Karens and Donalds and and Brendas. Imagine roll call. Imagine roll call with a substitute teacher.... But I now appreciate it and am quite fond of it. I insist on being called Tarwana and won't answer to Tawana anymore as I used to when I was younger." (Report as inappropriate)
